Perspective of a Pastor
When I speak at different churches or attend services on vacation with my family, I’m always observant. I am curious about the differences in their services compared to ours and the way in which we worship our Lord.
Pastors may have a different perspective, have a different way of engaging their flock. I don’t perceive this as right or wrong - just different.
A restaurateur who takes a meal in a restaurant across town considers many factors. From curb appeal to check presentation, how does the establishment present itself to the public?
He observes how he was greeted and if the HVAC system is set appropriately. How is the lighting? Where are the exits? Where is the kitchen? How many people are eating and waiting to eat? Is the dining area full or not? When seated how do the chairs feel, how clean is the restaurant?
Was the host observant and taking care of his needs? Was the server calm, confident as they approach the table? Did they have a tablet, pen and paper, or taking the order through memory? Was the server courteous, clean looking, and did they understand the menu and the prepared food? The list is extensive. The point being that chef uses more criteria to measure the restaurant than a regular patron.
Consider how a pastor might assess a different church service. Men and women who are “of the cloth”, whose specific calling is to be a Pastor, see things differently than the congregation. Not better or worse, simply different.
If you have ever been in a position of leadership. Like a Pastor. Place your passion in place of the word Pastor and I pray this helps you.
Have the best day of your life !!!
