“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:35,40(NIV)

Week after week the amazing volunteers at Chesapeake Cares Food Pantry give back to the community with kindness, respect and food without judgment. By giving back, we reflect God’s love in action and glorify Him.

Giving back is the common thread as to why people are dedicated to serving at Chesapeake Cares Food Pantry.

“It’s my way of giving back. I’ve been blessed and I want to give back to the community. In my position as greeter, I see the gratitude from the clients. I just love my interactions with the clients. It’s good for my soul. And I love working with the other volunteers!” Well spoken by Firzana Ahmad who has been a part of the team for many years.

Felicia Stoetzel connected with the pantry as an employee with AARP. With advance planning, Felicia recently had several of her coworkers serve alongside her. “I enjoy giving back. I work full time but I like that my company allows the opportunity to provide community service during my work hours.”

Abdul El-Tayef shared, “My family recently moved here, and I want to physically go out to help and give back to the community.”

The team is blessed with all of this volunteer support.
