Pope Francis calls for today, Ash Wednesday, to be a Day of Fasting for Peace.

Russian soldiers killed an Orthodox military chaplain, Maksym Anatolyovych Kozachyn, while leaving a village in the Kyiv region. They did not allow the priest's body to be taken away to be buried.
