Is He a paramedic or a resident in your life?
So, what is God to you? Usually when we get into a tough situation we want to call for help. When the world is crushing around us, what do we do? When we need money for a bill, or to go out for some fun on the town. What do we do? When Life has thrown us a curveball and we don’t know how to hit the pitch out of the park! What do we do? Then we quote scripture like, Psalm 46:1 NIV “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 44:26 NIV “Rise up and help us; rescue us because of your unfailing love.” Psalm 5:2 NIV “Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.”
So in Psalm 46:1 NIV “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” This is so true! God knew that we could not walk this race by ourself. That is why he sent His Holy Spirit to be our refuge and our strength, but why do we only call on him when we need help? We only call Him, like we do when we call “911” when we need a paramedic! We expect him to get there in a hurry, fix us quickly and leave as fast as he came, and to be ready for the next time we call!
In Psalm 44:26 NIV “Rise up and help us; rescue us because of your unfailing love.” So in this scripture talks about God to rise up and help us because of His unfailing love for us! God does love us unfailing, but do we truly love Him like we should or do we love what He an do for us? We often love people for there actions, but we do not love the person! If we can not get to the point where we can love the person, their actions whether good or bad will not effect us in the way that it usually does!
In Psalm 5:2 NIV “Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.” If you ask a earthly friend everyday to do different things for you, would you expect them to do it and be at your back in call. We expect God to be, and the awesome thing about it is that He will be there for you whenever you call! Just like a paramedic, but is that a true relationship?
In Galatians 2:20 NIV “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Christ died for each of us to be a resident in our Heart! He does not want to be a paramedic in our lives He want to be our best friend, confidant, companion, and our ride or die! John 15:4 NIV “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” So let Him remain in our lives! Let Him be a resident in your heart! So you will find that not only will your vines be full, but you will never run dry!
If Jesus is not a resident in your life, please get a hold of me. I would love to introduce you to the Jesus that I have been talking about. God loves you and so do I!
May God bless you all!
