Anomaly Students - Huntington FBC Youth

Anomaly Students - Huntington FBC Youth The Youth Ministry of Huntington First Baptist Church. We exist to glorify God and make disciples of the next generation!

Anomaly Students exists to bring glory to God and to make disciples of the next generation. We do this in conjunction with the structure of the entire church. FRIEND LEVEL “GATHER”
KEYWORDS: OPEN, INVITING, FRIENDLY, EVANGELISTIC
Wednesday Night Worship – This is our entry-level event that is open to any student in our town. Our desire is to make this a fun environment for kids to invite their fri

ends to and also provide solid teaching of the Bible in a relevant way. The goal for Wednesday Night Worship (in order to be healthy) is to average 10-15 kids per grade level (60-90 kids) plus some adults to help serve. In future years, we may split into MS and HS services in order to better contextualize the games, worship and teaching to the separate needs of both MS and HS. FOLLOWER LEVEL “GROW”
KEYWORDS: GROW, COMMUNITY, GROWTH, ACCOUNTABILITY, TEACHING
Sunday Morning Life Groups – Our entire aim as a church is to make disciples. To accomplish this goal, we have small groups that on Sunday mornings that help create community and disciples. These small groups are organized by grade level and gender, but are not set in stone semester to semester. The flow of our structure is to see kids from the 1st level move towards greater level of commitment to Christ and to our church. In the future, we would like to create some co-ed Life Groups, some special topic groups, and other types of groupings. FAMILY LEVEL “GO”
KEYWORDS: GO, DISCIPLESHIP, SERVICE, MISSION, ACCOUNTABILITY
Discipleship Groups – We have some smaller discipleship groups for a smaller subset of our youth group who want to be more intentional about growing in their faith. Our desire is that these discipleship groups would be the main focus of our efforts and the goal for each of our students in our ministry. Each discipleship group is different, but the goal of each is to have 3 students plus one adult. These groups are the prime place that they are held accountable to growing in discipleship.

We are excited to announce that Ethan Reyes is going to serve as Interim Youth Director while we continue to search for a full-time Youth Pastor. Ethan will be responsible for leading and organizing activities and volunteers for our youth group!

Ethan and Kennady both grew up in our youth group and church. After graduation, they lived in North Carolina for 4 years. Ethan served our country in the Marines and Kennady finished her schooling to become a Physical Therapy Assistant. They moved back to Huntington at the end of last year. They are both very excited to get to help serve and invest in our youth!

This Disciple Now our students spent a lot of time worshiping, reading, learning and discussing God’s Word as a big group and in small groups. We wanted to do two things this weekend mainly: have fun together and be filled up with God. We were made for community with God and with each other. That’s part of how we walk in the light and be a light in our communities. We totally forgot to capture a group photo but more important is the time spent drawing near to God!

The youth are getting ready for tomorrow's Valentine's Fundraiser Banquet! They put in a lot of work into making this great. Make plans now to stay right after church tomorrow and eat lunch with us. It'll be by donation, so give $5 or $500 if you feel so led! All money will go towards these students who worked to send them to youth camp.

Tonight our students took the last 30 minutes of youth worship and prayed the whole time. They would have kept going if their parents didn’t show up! They prayed for their families, their schools, their friends, praise about God, things they want to add, things they need to take away, thankfulness, for others, for themselves, for needs, for salvation, confession, forgiveness and much more. It always impresses me where the kids are when we pray like this! Our Father wants to hear us and speak to us in prayer, so let us draw near to him over and over.
