Jesus describes four kinds of soil — and really, four conditions of the heart:

🌱 1. The Path (Hard Ground)

The seed can’t sink in. It’s heard, but not received.
Spiritually: A hardened heart — distracted, skeptical, or guarded.

🌾 2. Rocky Ground

The seed springs up quickly but has no deep roots.
Spiritually: Emotional response, but no depth. Faith fades when pressure comes.

🌿 3. Thorny Ground

The seed grows, but thorns choke it.
Spiritually: Worries, busyness, fear, money, comparison — they crowd out what God is trying to grow.

🌻 4. Good Soil

The seed takes root, grows deep, and produces fruit.
Spiritually: A soft, surrendered heart — willing to receive, grow, and obey.

The beautiful part?
Soil can change.

Hard ground can be tilled.
Rocks can be removed.
Thorns can be pulled.

God is always working the ground of our hearts.

Maybe the deeper question isn’t just “What kind of soil am I?”
But “Am I willing to let Him cultivate me?”

If you’re comfortable sharing — which soil do you feel like you are in this season?

What a beautiful Resurrection Sunday Service of fellowship and faith!
We gathered for an Agape Dinner with 42 in attendance, sharing a meaningful remembrance of Passover and reflecting on the love and sacrifice that brings us together. Several members and friends provided food for everyone. The table was overflowing with wonderful, delicious food — but even more than that, it was overflowing with joy, unity, and gratitude.
We were so honored to have Pastor Melissa Snyder with us, sharing communion and leading us in such a sacred and powerful moment of reflection.
And heaven celebrated with us as we witnessed 1 precious soul baptized! What a powerful reminder that God is still moving, still calling, and still transforming lives.
So thankful for every person who came, every dish that was shared, and every heart that said “yes.”

“You can learn to love what He called you to be.”

Question for you:

What part of His calling has been hardest for you to love?

Sometimes we don’t struggle with what God called us to do —
we struggle with who He called us to be.

Called to lead when you feel unqualified.
Called to speak when you’d rather stay quiet.
Called to start something when you feel unseen.
Called to trust when you want certainty.

Learning to love what He called you to be often means:

Letting go of comparison
Releasing old identities
Forgiving yourself for who you thought you’d become
Trusting that obedience shapes affection

David didn’t always look like a king when he was tending sheep. Esther probably didn’t feel ready to save a nation. But they grew into the calling.

Sometimes the love comes after the yes.

Jesus at the Last Supper is one of the most powerful and intimate moments in all of Scripture. It’s recorded in Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, and especially deeply in John 13–17.

1. He knew — and still loved
Jesus knew:
Judas would betray Him
Peter would deny Him
The disciples would scatter
Yet He still washed their feet. He still broke bread with them. He still called them friends.
That kind of love is intentional, not emotional. It’s covenant love.
2. He chose surrender, not resistance
He could have stopped everything. Instead, He said yes to the Father’s will.
The Last Supper wasn’t panic — it was purpose.
When He broke the bread and said, “This is My body,” He was willingly stepping into sacrifice. No one took His life — He laid it down.
3. He redefined power
In John 13, the King of Kings put on a towel and washed feet.
Power in the Kingdom looks like serving. Authority looks like humility. Greatness looks like surrender.
4. He established remembrance
Communion wasn’t just ritual. It was relational.
“Do this in remembrance of Me.”
Not just remember what I did — remember who I am.
5. He prayed for us
In John 17, Jesus prays not only for the disciples but for “those who will believe through their message.” That includes us.
On the night before the cross… He had you on His heart.

The Last Supper shows us that Jesus is calm in betrayal, steady in surrender, humble in authority, and faithful in love.

Exodus 8:1–11 — The Cost of Holding On

Pharaoh was surrounded by frogs — in his house, in his bed, in his kitchen. What once seemed tolerable quickly became unbearable. Yet when given the opportunity for relief, he said one word:
“Tomorrow.”
How often do we do the same?
God doesn’t always send frogs — but He does allow discomfort when we refuse to surrender. Not to punish without purpose, but to confront what we’re holding onto.
Pride.
Control.
Fear.
Bitterness.
Delayed obedience.
We sometimes choose one more night with the “frogs” rather than releasing what God is asking us to lay down.
Surrender feels costly because it requires trust. Pharaoh’s struggle wasn’t about frogs — it was about authority. Would he admit that God is Lord?
And that is still the question today.
Surrender is not weakness.
It is alignment.
It is saying, “God, You are greater than my plans, my timeline, and my control.”
The frogs only left when Moses prayed — when Pharaoh finally acknowledged he needed God’s intervention.
Maybe the discomfort in your life isn’t meant to break you — it’s meant to bend you toward Him.
What would happen if instead of saying “tomorrow,” you said “today”?
Today I forgive.
Today I obey.
Today I release control.
Today I trust.
Freedom often begins the moment surrender does. 💛

Committing to ourselves is hard — especially when life pulls us in so many directions. Yet God calls us to stewardship not only over what we have, but who we are. Our bodies, minds, and hearts are His temples, and caring for them honors Him.

When we neglect ourselves, we often forget that we are part of God’s plan too. The same grace we extend to others is the grace He wants us to extend to ourselves. Committing to our growth, health, and spiritual walk isn’t selfish — it’s obedience.

Each time we keep a promise to ourselves — to pray, to rest, to heal, to grow — we are saying “yes” to the work God is doing within us.

So even when it feels difficult, remember: you’re not walking alone. God gives the strength to stay faithful, even in the quiet moments of self-discipline and surrender.
