Hebrews 6 contains one of the most challenging and often-debated passages in the New Testament. At first glance, verses 4-6 may seem to suggest that a Christian can lose his or her salvation. Is that what the writer is teaching?

As we carefully examine the context, we will discover that the writer is addressing those who had been exposed to the truth of Christ, understood the gospel intellectually, and experienced many of the blessings associated with God's people, yet had never fully placed their faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

This sobering warning reminds us that it is possible to be near the things of God without ever being genuinely converted. The issue is not losing salvation, but never truly possessing it. The writer's concern is for those who have knowledge of Christ without saving faith in Christ.

Christian maturity begins with the foundation of genuine salvation. It is not enough to know about Jesus—we must come to Him personally, trusting Him alone for the forgiveness of our sins and the gift of eternal life.

Join us this Sunday as we explore this important passage, answer some of the difficult questions it raises, and rejoice in the assurance that belongs to those who have truly placed their faith in Christ.

We will be also be honoring all of our dads on Father’s Day with prayer and a special gift as we thank God for the men who faithfully lead, serve, and love their families.

Many Christians have genuinely trusted Christ for salvation but have become stagnant in their walk with Him.
Instead of growing in obedience,discernment, and spiritual depth, they remain content with spiritual infancy.

This Sunday we will continue our study in Hebrews as we look at Hebrews 5:11-14, one of the most challenging passages in the letter.

The writer of Hebrews was addressing a Jewish audience that possessed significant knowledge about God's promises, the Scriptures, and even the Messiah. They had heard the truth about Jesus, but many had not fully embraced Him by faith. They had head knowledge, but lacked the heart commitment that leads to spiritual maturity.

As a result, the writer rebukes them for remaining spiritual infants when they should have been moving forward in faith. Rather than progressing toward a deeper understanding and relationship with Christ, they had become dull of hearing and resistant to spiritual growth.

While this passage was first directed toward those who had not yet fully trusted Christ, it also speaks powerfully to believers today. Many Christians have genuinely trusted Christ for salvation but have become stagnant in their walk with Him. Instead of growing in obedience, discernment, and spiritual depth, they remain content with spiritual infancy.

This passage invites each of us to ask some honest questions: Have I truly surrendered my life to Christ? Am I growing in my faith? Or have I become comfortable where I am spiritually?
