You Can't Earn God's Love. So Why Bother Practicing?
We spend a lot of time talking about practices, but the heart behind them is simple.
Practices are how we create space in our lives to be aware of God's presence.
We enter into them because faith is an embodied experience, and it's through practice that we cultivate awareness of God.
But we don't do this in a legalistic sense, like if we just worship enough or pray enough, somehow His presence will show up.
No. We do these things to create awareness in our lives of God's goodness.
And His love isn't something we earn; it's given through grace.
So the practices intentionally create that space to be aware of what God is doing, both individually in our lives and corporately as the church.
We make space, and we practice faith, to be aware of His presence.
