Over the last few months our preaching series has emphasized discipleship. In other words, following Jesus and helping others follow Jesus as well. For our sake and for the sake of those we are seeking to disciple, we need to know the Bible well. All of the Bible, the whole story of the Bible.
Considering the bigger story of the Bible will leave us in awe of the greatness and faithfulness of God. The bigger story will protect us from being biblically illiterate, protecting us from a spiritual understanding that is vague and filled with odd ideas and assumptions. The bigger story will point us to Jesus, to highlight the supremacy of His personhood, His heart and His work. What a great gain for us and our church to spend this summer learning about the bigger story of the Bible.
On Sunday July 5, we’ll start a 10-part series from creation and Adam, to Abraham and the promise, to Moses and the law, to David and exile and restoration all leading to Jesus Christ and his church.
If you are not already plugged into a local church, we would love to have you join us Sundays at 1:30pm to worship the risen Jesus together.
