Please join us this Friday, July 18th to celebrate our patron saint, St. Bonaventure! We will have a trilingual Mass of Thanksgiving at 6:00pm, followed by a celebration reception in the Parish Hall. There will be food, games, and activities for kids and families alike! We look forward to seeing you all celebrate St. Bonaventure’s feast day with us.
NOTE: Vietnamese adoration at 6:00pm and Vietnamese mass at 6:30pm have been CANCELLED.

Congratulations Fr. Oliver Coughlin on your ordination! May God bless you always as you embark on this new journey in your priesthood. 🙏🏼

Fr. Oliver Coughlin was ordained on Saturday, June 7th by Bishop Kevin Vann to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood. Many family members, friends, clergy, former classmates, and St. Bonaventure parishioners were present at his ordination.

As Fr. Oliver prepares for his first assignment at our church, please keep him in your prayers. We look forward to his arrival on July 1st. 🙏🏼

Please help us spread the word! After decades of loving service, the Presentation Sisters will be moving to Regina Residence at the end of June. While we are sad to see them go, we are deeply grateful for the legacy they leave behind, and we’re happy to share they’ll still be involved with SBS and the church and will attend many events throughout the year.

Join us as we honor them at a special Mass on Sunday, June 8 at 9:00 AM, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. All are welcome! Please invite former parishioners and alumni!

We invite you to pause and lift up a prayer for the repose of his soul, for the Church he shepherded, and for all who mourn this great loss.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

With deep sorrow, we share the news that Pope Francis has passed away.⁣​ Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta.
⁣
May the soul of Pope Francis, our faithful shepherd, rest in peace, and may the Church he so deeply loved continue to bear witness to the joy of the Gospel.
⁣
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

​S​t. Bonaventure Parish prays for the soul of the Holy Father Francis and asks the Holy Spirit to guide the college of cardinals as they prepare for a conclave.

Join us for our upcoming XLT event on Thursday, November 7 from 7:00-8:30pm in the church! Come and be filled with the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

XLT is a special night for teens to experience Eucharistic Adoration. The night begins with guest speaker Fr. Cheeyoon Chun, the Vocation Director for the sharing his experiences in faith. It is followed by Eucharistic Adoration which is accompanied by praise and worship music. As Catholics, we believe the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith and so these nights are an opportunity for teens to experience the glory of God through the Eucharist.

SR. WINIFRED HARNETT, PBVM

It is with deep sadness and with hope in the Risen Lord that the Presentation Sisters announce the death of Sr. Winifred Harnett who died peacefully surrounded by her Community on June 23, 2024 at Regina Residence, Orange, CA. We give thanks to God for her 67 years of faithful dedicated service as a Presentation Sister.

The Funeral Mass for Sr. Winifred Harnett will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at
St. Bonaventure Church.
-Viewing at 9:45am in the church
-Rosary at 10:00am in the church presided by Fr. Joe Knerr
-Funeral Mass at 10:30am in the church presided by Fr. Kerry Beaulieu.
-The rosary and funeral will be livestreamed:

-There will be a Reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the Mass.
-Interment at All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach following the reception.

Sr. Winnie made a lasting impression on her students and the school community. She will be greatly missed.
