It was another successful Backpack Drive supporting Colette’s Children’s Home. We delivered 118 backpacks, 52 bags of school supplies, and over $2,500 in gift cards, cash and checks. Your generous and caring hearts will make Back to School a little brighter for some local children!

On the weekend of July 25 and 26 Justice and Peace hosts the annual Backpack Drive in support of Colette’s Children’s Home. Below is a list of the needs. As always, thanks for your generous support!

This weekend marks our first drive in support of Waymakers, the youth shelter near the library in Huntington Beach. We will be accepting your donations of cleaning supplies, PT and TP, laundry detergent, paper plates and disposable utensils, along with playing cards, journals, sketch pads and bracelet-making kits. Also appreciated are gift cards for Barnes & Noble, Michaels, Target, Amazon, Albertson’s, Stater Bros. See you Saturday and Sunday after Masses. (Note: Sunday 5:00 Mass collection may be canceled due to the Corpus Christi procession.)

This weekend Justice & Peace will be at all masses to receive your donations for our annual Mother/Child Shower. The gifts you give will provide Mother’s Day gifts for u***d teens and women and their babies. Personal hygiene items (lotions, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, bath towels, nail care kits) as well as preemie, newborn and infant clothes are requested. Craft supplies, board games, playing cards, scrapbooking supplies, Dreft detergent are also appreciated. Detailed lists for the shelters, as well as info about each can be found online in the church bulletins for April 5,12 and 19.
Gift cards for Target, Amazon and Walmart, and of course, cash and checks are also welcome! Thanks for your consideration!! The folks picking up donations on Monday morning are always so appreciative of St. Bonaventure’s generous giving! Justice & Peace is grateful for your annual gifts!!
