What does real love look like? Not the "I love coffee" kind, but the lay-down-your-life kind?

Last Sunday, Pastor Mike dove into Galatians 5:22- discovering that love isn't a performance metric to earn God's approval. It's the fruit of the Holy Spirit working in us. Jesus showed us the ultimate definition on the cross: "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13).

The challenge? Developing a "bias for yes" and a "bias for now" in our relationships. Putting down our phones, pausing our tasks, and actually serving the person right in front of us—especially at home. That's agape love in action.

The Spirit wants to transform us this summer. Not through guilt or striving, but by looking at Jesus and letting His love overflow through us.

Thanks for joining us this morning, Lake Forest Church!

Today, we continued our Fruit of the Spirit series by exploring the first and foundational fruit: love. Through the life and sacrifice of Jesus, we were reminded that real love isn't just something we feel—it's something we do. It's choosing grace, selflessness, and putting others first.

What if this week we all lived with a "bias for yes" and a "bias for now," looking for opportunities to love the people right in front of us the way Jesus loves us?

"The fruit of the Spirit is love..." – Galatians 5:22

We're grateful to be growing together as we become the people God created us to be.

Thank you for joining us this Memorial Day weekend at Lake Forest Church! It was a special Sunday as we kicked off our new summer series, Fruit of the Spirit: Becoming the Person You Were Meant to Be.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll walk through Galatians 5 together and explore what it looks like to follow the Holy Spirit in everyday life and grow into the character God is shaping in us.

We’re grateful for time to worship together, share communion, and remember the faithfulness of God. We’d love to have you with us next Sunday as we continue the series. And don't forget to invite your ONE MORE PERSON!
