🤯 Almost 850 people have already signed up to GO on the Missio Dei this weekend, packing meals for people facing hunger right here in our community and around the world! 🙌

Way to show up, Lake Forest Church! ❤️

REMINDER: There will be NO regular worship services this Sunday! Instead, we’ll be worshiping by serving others and putting the love of Jesus into action.

Haven’t registered yet? There’s still room for you! Our biggest needs are Saturday at 5 PM and Sunday at 8:10 AM.

We’re also collecting gently used coats for our neighbors in Huntington Green! Have coats your family no longer needs? Bring them along and help keep our neighbors warm this winter.

We can’t wait to serve alongside you, love our neighbors, and put our faith into action together.

Our community is heartbroken by the passing of Ellie Keller, who was just under 13 years old. 💙

Ellie was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and soccer player whose spunky spirit, fierce determination, and loving heart touched so many lives. Though her time here was far too short, the joy and love she shared will never be forgotten.

This morning, Pastor Mike challenged us to consider what it truly means to follow Jesus: to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:21–27).

Following Jesus doesn’t mean life will always be easy, but it means we can face every season knowing we are deeply loved by God and that our lives have purpose in His kingdom.

As we continue growing in our faith, may we keep discovering Jesus, belonging to His people, serving others, and joining Him on His mission in the world.

And today, we’re celebrating another special milestone — 28 years of Lake Forest Church! 🎉 We’re grateful for all God has done and excited for what’s still to come.

What a beautiful morning of worship, reflection, and recommitment to following Jesus!

Have you ever wondered where the meals we pack on Meal Packing Weekend go? In this video, Pastor Andrew shares how these meals do more than feed hungry children. Through our partnership with Servants With a Heart, they help children stay in school, provide food for their families, and break the cycle of generational poverty around the world.

This is what it looks like to GO with Jesus on the missio Dei — the mission of God! 🙌 We get to join in what God is already doing in the world by loving our neighbors, meeting real needs, and sharing His love in tangible ways.

Next weekend, October 24 & 25, we have an opportunity to put our faith into action! We’ll be replacing our regular worship services with our Meal Packing Serve Event, coming together as a church family to make a difference, one meal at a time.

Where is God calling you to GO?

In 2003, Algie’s 10-year-old daughter said, “Daddy, I think I need to go to Bolivia.” At first, he didn’t understand—but after going on a missions trip himself, everything changed. His faith grew, lifelong friendships were formed, and he experienced firsthand how God uses missions to transform lives.

You don’t have to go overseas to live on mission! You can serve your family, love your neighbors, and make a difference right here in our community.

🙌 And you have an opportunity to GO right here at church next weekend! Join us for our Meal Packing Serve event, where we’ll pack 160,000 meals for the hungry!

Looking to make a little extra money? We could use your help!

We’re looking for people ages 15 and up to help with childcare during Oasis groups on Thursdays from 9:15–11:45 AM. Pay is $14.50/hour.

Our immediate needs are October 22, October 29, and November 12. Can’t help every week? That’s okay! We’d also love to add you to our list for occasional childcare opportunities throughout the year.

🌧️ Thanks for braving the monsoon to worship with us this morning, Lake Forest! We’re glad we got to spend Sunday with you.

Today, Pastor Andrew reminded us that God is on a mission to make disciples who make disciples and heal holy hurts. And He invites us to be part of it. Whether it’s blessing your one more person, serving someone in need, or sharing the hope of Jesus, there are so many ways to GO with Jesus on the Missio Dei every day.

Who is God calling you to bless? What hurt is He moving your heart to help heal?
