Wisdom requires discipline to continue to prioritize wisdom. When we live in wisdom, we continue to seek out wisdom every day. According to Matthew 6:33, we are to seek first the Kingdom. Seeking is active and progressive. We never arrive. We only keep going. Beyond the pursuit and attainment of wisdom, there is the discipline of application -- the commitment to put into practice that which we have learned. We live a life of freedom when we apply the Word. Most specifically, we gain freedom from the power from the enemy to lead us down the path of destruction. There are levels of discipline toward our learning. There is learning that is acquired through seeking. There is knowledge which comes from long term use. Ultimately, there is wisdom which -- having been deepened, developed and applied over time -- is then shared with others. True wisdom comes from the continual search for wisdom. We are to apply wisdom and then share it. May we increase in our commitment to seek, apply, and share godly wisdom; for devilish wisdom always comes to naught.

Proverbs 22:29 speaks of those who are gifted. Every good and perfect gift comes from above, from God with whom there there is no variation or shadow of turning. Gifts are entrusted to us by God, and we are to exercise proper stewardship. While worldly success is not guaranteed, wise stewardship of our gifts positions us for success more so than those who do not exercise their gifts with wisdom. Joseph continued to be promoted and elevated because he properly stewarded his gifting. Lazy persons who do not use their gifts and maximize their effectiveness have reason to be afraid. Those who are faithful and diligent have nothing to fear. May we always be found faithful and diligent in the stewardship and application of our gifts, no matter the venue, setting, or circumstance. When we serve diligently, we are brought before great men. Do not despise small beginnings, but be faithful in service. Our elevation is to bring glory to God and to allow our light to shine before men and hopefully draw them into the Kingdom. May we properly steward our gifts and watch God bestow His blessings!

A person may think he or she is right in his or her own eyes. A wise person commits to personal reflection and asks if the decisions and choices being made align with the will of God. Most of us have trouble examining ourselves and deciding that we were wrong, even as we have critically judged someone else for doing the same thing. This is selective morality -- making decisions or judgments based on our own moral standard, but applying one standard for others and a different standard for ourselves. We are not to judge inappropriately, for the same standards by which we judge others are the same standards by which we will be judged. God judges us by His standard, but we tend to judge ourselves differently. We tend to judge and allow actions based upon what makes us look good. God judges the heart and He knows why we do what we do. In wisdom, we are to continually examine ourselves. If we find any wrong, we are to admit it, repent, and realign ourselves with the will of God. May we always be guided and governed by God's Truth.
