Forgiveness Is Easy... Until It's Not.

We love talking about God's forgiveness.

His mercy. His grace. His willingness to forgive us again and again.

But what happens when we're the ones called to forgive?

When the hurt is real. When the offense was personal. When the other person hasn't even apologized.

Suddenly, forgiveness feels a lot harder.

Forgiveness isn't something we have to manufacture through willpower. We need the Holy Spirit to change our hearts and give us the strength to extend grace.

What if following Jesus isn't about trying harder to be good, but allowing God to change us from the inside out?

We can follow rules, change behaviors, and work hard to look like a "good Christian." But real transformation doesn't begin with our efforts. It begins with surrender.

As Pastor Matt reminded us Sunday, obedience is the FRUIT of transformation, not the ROOT.

God changes our hearts, renews our minds, and gives us the desire and power to live differently.

Jesus experienced all of it. He knows what it feels like to be hurt by the very people closest to Him. But here's the hope we can hold on to: Jesus has overcome!

Is God's grace really enough? ❤️

We spend so much of our lives chasing things we think will bring us happiness, peace, or fulfillment. And for a little while, they might. But eventually, that feeling fades.

Here's the good news: The joy and peace we find in Jesus aren't temporary.

In Ephesians 1, Paul reminds us that God has blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ. Even in life's hardest seasons, His grace is sufficient, His promises are everlasting, and His love never fails.

Who says church can't be FUN?! Because if you've been around Journey for any length of time, you know we've had our fair share of laughs over the years!

From hilarious video clips and unforgettable music videos to lip sync challenges, Mother's Day surprises, and plenty of moments that probably deserve to stay in the archives (but we're sharing them anyway! 😂) — 25 years at Journey have been anything but boring!

We've worshiped together, served together, grown together, and YES... laughed A LOT together!

God doesn't just call you to change. He gives you the POWER to do it!

What if we really believed that God is working in us every single day? Not just giving us the desire to follow Him, but also the strength to actually do it!

Philippians 2:13 reminds us that God is the one working in us, changing our hearts, shaping our desires, and giving us the power to live more like Jesus.

It's not about checking off a list of things we should do. It's about allowing God to transform us from the inside out.
