Caterpillar Ministries has been spreading the love of Jesus to the families living in the Huntington Green Community in Huntersville NC

Caterpillar Ministries offers programming for the children, adults, and families living in Huntington Green mobile home neighborhood (in Huntersville, NC) — a multiethnic and multicultural under-resourced community. We are a grass-roots nonprofit and non-denominational Christian organization that was founded in 2007. We partner with our neighbors in Huntington Green to experience together the abundant life through Jesus Christ. Caterpillar Ministries supports the well-being of families, as well as nurtures and strengthens God-centered homes.

Through genuine relationships, we serve more than 1200 children and adults through our 4 pillars of care:
* Faith Development
* Academic Enrichment
* Crisis Care
* Advocacy Support

Programs and services include:
Afterschool and summer tutoring
Bilingual preschool program and summer camp
Bible study for adults and Kids Club for K-5th grades
Youth Bible study and small groups
Summer camp
Soccer camp and tournament in July
Free School Supplies — a distribution Day in August that serves nearly 300 children
Family events, including movies, Bingo, ice cream socials
Assistance with rent and utilities
Referrals to Beds for Kids, Lydia's Loft, and Loaves and Fishes.. and so much more. We partner with many local churches, businesses, civic organizations, and other non-profits.

We've BEAN blessed!

Our food pantry shelves are getting some much-needed restocking, thanks to some wonderful community partners!

A BIG thank you to Flyin' Lion Ministries at St. Mark's Episcopal Church for donating 60 cans of beans—dark red kidney, pinto, and black beans!

And a special thank you to Jan for helping make it happen! ❤️

Every donation, big or small, helps us keep our food pantry stocked and makes nutritious food available to our Huntington Green neighbors when they need it. We're so grateful for friends who keep showing up and caring for our community!

💚 Grateful for the Churches Who Walk Alongside Us! 🦋

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and we couldn't let it pass without celebrating the incredible pastors, church staff, and church families who mean so much to Caterpillar Ministries!

Our church partners give so generously—not just financially, but through their time, volunteers, leadership, facilities, and countless acts of love and service.

They open their doors, show up for events, celebrate victories with us, and perhaps most importantly, walk alongside us and our Huntington Green neighbors through the really hard days, too. ❤️

And what better way to say thank you than with something homemade and made with love? One of our sweet Huntington Green moms lovingly prepared delicious buñuelos for us to share with several of our church partners, along with heartfelt thank-you notes. What a beautiful way for one of our neighbors to bless the very churches that have blessed our community!

To ALL our church partners—pastors, staff, volunteers, and congregations—thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus! Your faithfulness, generosity, prayers, and love make such a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

It all started with one YES to God's calling! 💚🦋

What a special evening celebrating nearly 20 years of God's faithfulness!

Last night, we welcomed back former Caterpillar Ministries board members for an evening filled with laughter, memories, stories, and prayer!

What a joy to have Anne, our founder, come back home and share stories of how God has provided every step of the way. Almost 20 years ago, Anne said YES to God's call to serve our Huntington Green neighbors. And what a beautiful reminder of all God has done through the many people He has brought alongside this ministry since then!

Several former board members led us in a sweet time of prayer for our children, families, staff, and future. Pastor Jeff reminded us through Scripture of Jesus' example of obedience and faithfulness.

To everyone who has been part of Caterpillar's story, THANK YOU! And to those who couldn't join us, we missed you! You are part of this story, too. ❤️

As we look back with gratitude and forward with excitement, our prayer is simple: May we always be a light in Huntington Green, pointing others to the love and faithfulness of Jesus! ✨

🎃🍁 Pumpkins, Playtime & Plenty of Fall Fun! 🍂🎨

Our Fall Festival on Saturday was full of smiles, laughter, and community fun! From pumpkin decorating, crafts, face painting, games, and yummy food to connecting families with wonderful resources—there was something for everyone! 🧡

A BIG thank you to Catawba Church for sharing your space and Elevation Lake Norman for bringing the pumpkins and so much fall fun! 🎃

We loved seeing families connect with community partners, sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, receive diapers and wipes from the YMCA, and participate in a special workshop just for parents!

🍁 Thank you to Atrium Health, Mecklenburg County, YMCA, Elevation Lake Norman, and Smart Start for showing up, sharing resources, and helping make the day so special!

The best part? Seeing neighbors, families, and friends come together to celebrate community. That's what it's all about! 🧡

☕🎶 A little cafecito, beautiful music, and rest for the soul! 💚

Sometimes we all need a moment to slow down, breathe, and simply BE. 🌿

Our first Cafecito & Relaxing Music gathering was just that! Led by music therapist, Ana Lucia, our neighbors enjoyed outdoor stretching, positive affirmations, and peaceful music featuring her beautiful voice and unique instruments.

Participants shared that they left feeling lighter, more relaxed, and with less tension in their bodies. 💕

Thank you to the YMCA of Greater Charlotte for helping make this beautiful time of rest and renewal possible!

🍼💚 Big love for our tiniest Caterpillars! 🐛

We are SO excited to welcome Baby Bundles as a new Caterpillar Ministries partner!

Last week, our team attended Baby Bundles' New Partner Orientation, and we left with full hearts! 💕

Baby Bundles does so much more than provide essential items for newborns. Each bundle is thoughtfully prepared to bring joy, hope, and a little of that baby shower excitement to new moms who may not otherwise have that experience. 🎁👶

Because every new mom deserves to feel celebrated, supported, and loved. And every baby deserves a beautiful beginning!

We are so grateful for this new partnership and the opportunity to bring even more love and resources to our Huntington Green families and our newest, tiniest Caterpillars! 🐛💚
