Thanksgiving Food Drive Begins this Weekend! Help us fill these tables at St. Mark so we can help fill Thanksgiving tables throughout our community!

When you come to Mass this weekend, please bring a bag of nonperishable food. Volunteers will be there to collect your donations.

What can you bring?
Stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, gravy, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, canned fruit, boxed macaroni and cheese, rice, pasta and other shelf-stable foods that help make a family meal.

Please, no expired food. We want to give our neighbors food we’d be happy to serve at our own tables.

Donations help provide Thanksgiving meals for local families and stock area food pantries.

Our collection continues through November 1.

Thank you, St. Mark, for helping care for our neighbors!

TGIF: Thanking God for you.
It’s Friday, and a beautiful reminder as we head into the weekend: You are made in the image and likeness of God.

Fr. John’s homily on Sunday:

“First and foremost, each one of you is a beloved son or daughter of God.”

We are not defined by our jobs, our bank accounts, our political opinions or our accomplishments. We are made in the image and likeness of God.

Father reminded us that this changes how we should walk into every room, whether it’s the office, the kitchen, the classroom or the hospital room.

We carry the image of the One who made heaven and earth.

Remember this as you go into the weekend.

Astralis Returns to St. Mark!
Join us this Monday, October 26, at 7 pm as we welcome the award-winning Astralis Chamber Ensemble back to St. Mark for Masters of the Baroque.

Returning for their third performance at our parish this year, Astralis will present an evening of beautiful music featuring works by Bach, Telemann, Handel, C.P.E. Bach and Vivaldi.

The ensemble will feature Angela Massey on flute, Seeun Baek on violin, Edward Luengo on cello and Alexandra Dunbar on harpsichord. They will be joined by acclaimed organist and composer Dr. Gregory Hamilton, who will perform on the lute and organ.

These concerts have become a special part of the musical and cultural life of St. Mark.

The Church has long recognized the value of beauty and the arts, and we are grateful to share these wonderful performances with our parish and community.

Adorers Urgently Needed!
We have several openings in our Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, and the good news is that most are during convenient afternoon and evening hours!

Hours needing committed adorers:
Tuesday: 2 am to 3 am
Thursday: 4 pm to 5 pm
Friday: 3 pm to 4 pm
Friday: 5 pm to 6 pm
Saturday: 11 am to noon
Saturday: 6 pm to 7 pm

At St. Mark, we need two committed adorers for every hour to keep our chapel open around the clock.

If you're already coming to St. Mark for Faith Formation, picking up children, attending parish activities or heading home from work, perhaps you could make an hour with Jesus part of your weekly routine.

You do not need to be a St. Mark parishioner. All are welcome!

A regular commitment of just one hour a week helps keep this beautiful gift of Perpetual Adoration available to our entire community.

For Those Who Serve and Protect
Every day, our police officers, firefighters and first responders answer calls from people who need help. They often see people on their hardest days, and we don’t always know what those experiences ask of them or what they carry home.

Saturday morning was an opportunity to pray for them and their families at St. Mark’s annual Blue Mass, organized by our Knights of Columbus.

In his homily, Fr. Angermeyer spoke about St. Ignatius of Antioch and the example of giving ourselves wholeheartedly in service to others. He reminded our first responders that even those who spend their lives helping others need strength themselves.

And sometimes, that means turning to Christ and simply saying:

“Lord, I don’t have anything today. Be my strength.”

Those words from his homily are worth remembering, not just for our first responders, but for all of us.

Following Mass, Fr. Angermeyer blessed a fire truck and police vehicle, a reminder that our prayers go with those who head out each day, never knowing quite what they will face.

Thank you to our Knights of Columbus for organizing this beautiful tradition, and to all who serve our communities.

May God watch over you, give you strength when you need it most, and bring you safely home to those who love you.

Wings, Trivia and a Great Night at St. Mark!
What a fun evening last night! Great food, some friendly competition, and plenty of laughs as families and friends came together for Wings & Trivia.

A big thank you to everyone who made the evening possible, especially Maddie and Daniel Torres who emceed, Clint Schaney who cooked, and our many volunteers who kept the wings, drinks, and treats coming!

There's something important about making time for fun in the life of a parish.

We come together to worship, pray and grow in faith, but we also build friendships and get to know the people sitting beside us at Mass each week. Even something as simple as sharing a plate of wings can help make those connections.

And there's more coming!
On Saturday morning, November 14, St. Mark will host our first Turkey Race at Christ the King Catholic High School, with races for ages 5–18 and activities for the whole family.

Then, that evening our Marriage Ministry will host a Date Night for Married Couples, with dinner and time to reconnect.

Registration is now open for both events.

Men’s Welcome Retreat: November 7 & 8
When was the last time you took a little time for yourself and your relationship with God?

Join other men of St. Mark for a day and a half of prayer, reflection, honest conversations and an opportunity to build friendships that continue long after the retreat.

Led by men of our own parish, Welcome includes personal stories, Mass, Adoration and time to step away from the demands of everyday life.

Since 2020, more than 400 men at St. Mark have experienced Welcome. This November, we invite you to be part of our eighth retreat.
Whether you feel close to God, have been away for a while or simply want to grow in your faith, there's a place for you.

Come as you are.
