In today’s verse, we hear about Simeon and Anna, both of whom remain faithful and disciplined in their faith into their old age. It reminds us how the perspective of older generations can provide great insight and blessings to younger generations - and how younger generations can work in new ways to bring God into their lives and worlds around them.

God’s word reminds us that we have much to learn with the help of each other, and each generation may have more in common than we think. It’s important to remember that these different perspectives are a strength, and together, we grow stronger. As we head into this week, may we all take a moment to consider how someone of a different age or stage of life has shown us something in a new light or contributed to our faith journey in a way we may not have expected!

With the first few weeks of school nearly complete, we're taking a look back at this year's Ready for School outreach and the preparations that went into getting backpacks ready for the start of the school year! We reached over 800 local students this year and are so grateful to share God's love through this incredible work.

This project was made possible through the kindness of many helpers from our church and surrounding community. We are grateful for the following organizations whose generosity made this outreach a success:

Ruth and Naomi’s love is a steadfast reminder of God’s calling for us to love one another for who we are, not what we do. Their love for one another reminds us each day in our own lives that those one of the most powerful ways we love, whether family or chosen family, is standing by someone through the difficult times and periods of struggle.

We are so blessed to have chosen love within the community of Grace family! May today’s verse serve as a way to go into this week remembering that the love for each other allows us to thrive and flourish even when life becomes difficult. ❤️

All youth are encouraged to bring their backpacks for a special Backpack Blessing during Sunday, August 23rd Morning Worship services. There will be a special part of the service that Pastor Suzanne will say a prayer over the students returning to school and their backpacks. This will be during both 8:15am and 10:00am services. Everyone is encouraged to bring their backpacks along with them. Each backpack will get a special prayer tag from Grace Church to remind all students that your Grace family is always with you and supporting you. Praying for you through all things and wishing you the very best school experience this year.
