Hummelstown, The goal of Blaze is to take the students both deep & wide.

Blaze Youth Ministries for grades 6-12, meets at least two times every week on the 4th Floor at Hanoverdale Church. We want to dig deep into God’s Word and then go wide — taking what we have learned in God’s Word and reach those who may not have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. We want to actively disciple your student so that they may better know Jesus Christ and then go out and make mor

e disciples for Him. This is our calling as Christians as we find in Matthew 28. We align ourselves with the Great Commission (Matthew 28) because it brings both direction and focus to our ministry. We accomplish this goal by doing the following:

How can you “rejoice in the Lord” during such times? What are some of God’s promises from the Bible that can help you remember to trust God?

Prayer: Dear God, Thank you that You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. When I am faced with difficulties, I will put my trust in You and cling tightly to your promise to work all things for good. When my world is turned upside down, I choose joy because I know You, and I know You are good, faithful, and trustworthy.

Prayer: Dear God, I do not like trials, troubles, suffering, or pain; but I understand they are part of life. Help me to shift my perspective so I can recognize the joy opportunities present in my trial. I do not want to miss any opportunities to be filled with the joy you give freely.

Prayer: Dear God, Thank You for being with me in my trials, and for helping me to grow through them. Often, I feel anything but joy in the middle of trials. Open my eyes to help me see these hard times as tools to strengthen me and bring me to a new level of maturity.

Love can seem like a confusing thing. Relationships begin and end, people get angry with one another, sometimes we may even wonder what love really is. But here's the truth: God is love. It doesn't matter what we've done or will do, God was willing to sacrifice His Son so that we could experience His love, being close to Him again. Do you feel unlovable today? Know that God has already done the work to make this love available to you all the time. Once you accept that free gift, there's absolutely nothing that can change His love for you. Have you asked for His forgivness and accepted that love for yourself?

Do you pray all the time? When we think about praying, it can bring to mind closed eyes, folded hands, and large, serious words. But, prayer is so much more than that! It's any time we intentionally interact and communicate with God. It can be a quick word on the soccer field, a big "thank you" when the food is so delicious or the sunset is so beautiful. It can be a cry out for help or shout full of joy. So, how will you pray today? Challenge yourself to take a few moments at random times today just to think about God and talk with Him about what's going on in the moment. When we do this, the conversation never really ends!

It's so easy for us to judge others, and ourselves, by our appearances. It takes much more time to understand who someone is at heart, there is time and effort involved. Thankfully, God already knows us inside and out and He isn't concerned with how we look, but how and who we are. How is your heart doing today?
