Our finest hour

on June 18, 1940 Winston Churchill stood before the crowded benches of the house of commons. it was a desperate moment in British history. English armies had been flung back on the continent.Vast quantities of arms and ammunitions had been lost. enemy bombers were overhead. in this desperate moment, Churchill was called to take his place as a leader of his nation. standing before those benches, he finished his memorable utterance with these words: let us brace ourselves to our duties and so dedicate ourselves that if the British empire and commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say this was their finest hour. perhaps this was their finest hour. many believe the British were never better than they were at that moment in history. what will history record of the church in this generation? did we stand for God? did we take the gospel to the world? did we love and lead? were we people of character and conviction? this, to can be our finest hour.

Down to only one fear. We need not to fear economic collapse whether the breaking of Social Security, a major stock market crash, the mounting us debt, recession the real estate bubble bursting, bankruptcy, out of control inflation or job losses. I have been Young, and now I'm old yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his descendants begging bread Psalms 37 25. Potential persecution. Whether the steadily Rising antagonism against Christianity, overthrow by foreign oppressors, the mounting tide of immorality promoting sin, or the epidemic ignorance of the Bible in our land. Do not fear Those Who Kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and Body in hell. Matthew 10 28. Military threats. Whether Al qaida, the Taliban, Iranian nuclear weapon building, Alliance between China and North Korea and Russia, or Armed Forces spread too thin. Peter said, in truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears him and works righteousness is accepted by him. Acts chapter 10 verses 34 through 35. natural catastrophe. Whether global warming, meteors crashing through the atmosphere, glacial melting, California sliding into the ocean, or events like tsunamis and hurricanes. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him He also will hear their cry and save them the Lord preserve's all who love him but all the wicked he will destroy Psalms 145 verses 19 through 20. Health problems. Whether cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, ALS, AIDS, kidney failure, dementia, arthritis, blood clots, or liver disease. My grace is sufficient for you 2nd Corinthians 12 verse 9. Academic decline. Whether comparative test scores with children in other nations, a socially charged curriculum agenda, the dumbing down of America, the De- emphasis of classroom competition, or outcome-based education programs. We need to fear. Fear God Ecclesiastes chapter 5 verse 7 1st Peter 2:17 you should walk after the Lord your God and fear Him Deuteronomy 13:4 his Mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation Luke 1: 50 the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him Psalms 25:14. Food for thought thanks for your attention have a good day

God will judge! When we have been mistreated by someone Friend or Foe there is a certain response that we must use. They are laid out in Scripture commands ,guidelines, standards, morals, and principles we are two respond to them. We have a tendency to think because we are the victims that we can respond or react anyway that we want but God wants us to respond according to these commands principles and guidelines if we don't we are no better than the moral perpetrators and in his sight we are no better than the perpetrator he will judge us according to our response to miss mistreatment we must have faith in him that he will take care of the perpetrators vengeance is mine I will repay said the Lord. When we become vindictive and retaliate then we are no better than the perpetrator and that is how he will judge us that's why he says love your enemies thank you and have a good day.

9/12 - Barna, research group, this group does research in the spiritual and moral areas including prayer ,church attendance, Bible reading and involvement in religious activity. before the terrorist attack right after 9 1101 there was a great spike in all measurements, 6 months later it was right back where they were before 9/11 there is nothing new here: because Israel when they come out of Egypt they sing and dance and celebrated their freedom, 3 days later they would gripe and complain Exodus chapter 15 verse 22. there was Mount Sinai they came to get the law from God, 40 Days Later there was a golden calf, adultery, nakedness Exodus chapter 32 verse 1, then there was Palm Sunday they would Palm the pathway and cry Hosanna, 7 days later they cried crucify him crucify him, there was the food in the wilderness God provided manna Exodus chapter 16 they wanted Quail Numbers chapter 11 verse 31 then there was the time when they were released from captivity out of Babylon to rebuild the Temple, they build houses plants Gardens but they forgot to build the temple hanggai 1: 2- 11 Ezra 5:1 and there was 15 years with no progress seven religious behaviors were study to assess the impact of the 9/11 events. the surge in church attendance has been widely reported and while current levels of adult attendance or higher than before the attack, they are not statistically different than the numbers recorded last November thus reflecting the usual seasonal increase it appears that attendance which Nationwide increased by perhaps 25% immediately after the attack is back at normal levels the November survey found 48% of adults attending on a typical weekend yes tragedies and atrocities can bring us closer together but it is usually temporary food for thought
