Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, standing together in faith and agreement over Houston, Galveston, the Gulf Coast, and the entire state of Texas.
Your Word declares, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Father, we ask You to be our refuge, our protection, and our defense as Tropical Storm Edouard approaches.
In the authority of the name of Jesus, we pray for this storm to weaken, lose its strength, and dissolve completely before it can bring destruction. We ask for Your mercy over our region and Your protection over every person who may be affected.
Lord, stretch out Your hand over Houston, Galveston, the Gulf Coast, and every community across Texas. Protect every person, every family, every home, every church, every business, and every community.
We pray against excessive and destructive rainfall, flash flooding, rising waters, overflowing rivers and bayous, storm surge, destructive winds, and every form of damage. Let the rains be restrained. Let the waters remain within their boundaries. Keep our homes, roads, neighborhoods, businesses, and communities safe.
In the name of Jesus, we speak peace over this storm. We speak to the winds and command them to calm. We speak to the seas and waters and command them to be still. We speak against excessive rainfall and flooding, and we declare that the rains will diminish and the waters will recede. We declare that Tropical Storm Edouard will weaken, lose its strength, and dissolve before it can bring destruction.
We pray for no loss of life, no devastating flooding, no destructive winds, no major property damage, and no widespread power outages. Place Your hand of protection over our communities. Keep people safe as they prepare and respond. Give wisdom and strength to first responders, emergency workers, utility crews, and everyone serving others during this time.
Father, Your Word says, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). We ask You to cover the people of Texas under Your shadow. Be their shelter, their defense, and their strong tower.
Your Word says, “He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed” (Psalm 107:29). We stand on Your Word and believe that You are greater than this storm. Let there be calm where there is turbulence, safety where there is danger, and peace where there is fear.
We reject fear and declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Give Your people wisdom, courage, discernment, and peace.
Lord, provide for everyone who may be affected. Let there be food, clean water, shelter, electricity, medical care, transportation, and every necessary provision. Open doors of help and cause people to care for one another.
Father, we ask for Your mercy over Texas. Turn this storm away from destruction. Restrain the heavy rains. Prevent flooding. Calm the winds. Protect our communities. Cause this storm to weaken, dissipate, and dissolve completely.
We stand together as the Body of Christ, united in prayer and faith. We do not stand in fear of the storm. We stand in faith in the God who is greater than the storm.
Your Word says, “The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)
So we receive Your strength. We receive Your peace. We trust Your power and Your protection.
We declare peace over Houston.
We declare protection over Galveston.
We declare mercy over Texas.
We declare safety over our families and communities.
We declare that the winds will calm, the rains will diminish, the waters will recede, and this storm will lose its strength.
We stand together in faith, believing God for protection, mercy, and peace over Texas.
In the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
