One step at a time. God is faithful.
When we first met Micah, he was incarcerated. Today, we got to celebrate another step forward with him: he passed the written test for his driver’s license! We celebrated with some BBQ.
And that test is just one piece of a much bigger story.
Micah is living at CrossWalk Center, has found a church home, has a good job, and is actively involved in his church. He’s working, staying focused, saving his pennies, and making plans for his future. No shortcuts. Just one faithful step after another.
Less Than The Least Ministries had the privilege of ministering to Micah while he was in prison. Now that he’s home, we get to come alongside him in some small ways as he builds his life again.
But perhaps our favorite part of his story is what he wants to do next.
When he becomes eligible, Micah wants to go back inside the prison walls, this time as a Less Than The Least Ministries volunteer, to encourage men who are where he once was.
That’s what restoration can look like. The man who was once being ministered to becomes the man who goes back to minister to someone else.
Keep going, Micah. One piece at a time. One step at a time.
God is faithful.

6 volunteers. One mission. One message of hope.

Yesterday at the Gurney Unit, God opened the door for our team to share the hope of Jesus Christ with 242 men in the chapel and another 50 men in solitary confinement.

We went in simply wanting to be faithful with the opportunity God gave us. We came out celebrating 27 men who publicly made decisions for Jesus Christ and the one-on-one prayers through solitary door metal screens.

Behind every number is a man. A story. A family. A life that matters to God.

Prison walls and solitary cells may restrict where a man can go, but they cannot restrict where the Gospel can go.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

In 2012, I met Eddie B when he came from New Mexico to my prison unit in Texas and again when he came to where I was leading worship at C.O.O.L. church. Eddie B was the second guest we had on The Edge in 2025. An inmate in Alabama, Michael W. saw that episode and asked his chaplain, James Smoker, to have Eddie come to their unit. Yesterday, August 12, 2026, he did. You might be wondering, what took so long? God's timing is perfect.

In addition to holding a service for general population, Eddie did two services on life row (aka, death row to those of us out here). The men were led out of their cells and into a room for the event. Eddie said, "In over 34 years of prison ministry, I have never seen them do that. Especially when an ex*****on is scheduled the same week." That ex*****on is scheduled for today, August 13, 2026. The man, Jeremy, and his family were treated to a special song, Amazing Grace, and there were tears all around, hands raised, spirit rejoicing.

Today, we are humbled by the way God moves when His people are obedient to His calling and the prompting of the Holy Spirit. We're asking you to pray for Jeremy and his family. Chaplain Smoker confirms that “Jeremy is born again and has peace in his heart of where he will spend eternity.” Thank you for your prayers.

There’s something powerful happening in Arizona.

This week in Phoenix, a diverse group of Christ-first ministries and leaders gathered around a table with one shared purpose: Jesus gets the glory.

Around that table were people from The Light Project, Faith Over Fear, Wrong to Strong, Less Than The Least Ministries, The Recovery Gathering, and a rep for Chaplain David Urquides, with more partners already joining the effort. Some have been incarcerated. Some have not. A cop. Former military. An accomplished record producer. Street evangelists. Musicians. Prayer warriors. Strategists. Logistics people. Different backgrounds, different gifts, one mission.

And this is just the beginning.

In February, we’re coming together at Central Arizona Correctional Facility in Florence for what we’re calling:

THE EDGE RECOVERY EXPERIENCE

We’re envisioning a two- or three-day crusade reaching both inside the prison and out in the surrounding community, potentially with multiple venues and teams ministering at the same time.

But we don’t want to simply hold an event and leave.

Between now and February, teams will be connecting with local churches, ministries, and community organizations throughout the area. Our goal is to build relationships that continue long after the last song is sung and the last message is preached.

We want ongoing discipleship inside the prison.

We want churches and communities prepared to receive men and women when they return home.

We want returning citizens connected to the Body of Christ, recovery resources, healthy relationships, and people who will walk beside them as they build a new life.

And we want Jesus to be the only star.

Robert Hawkins and The Recovery Gathering will be part of the experience. Robert is a gospel artist whose music has charted on the Billboard Gospel charts, and The Recovery Gathering provides Christ-centered recovery services around the country. His appearances on The Edge have already reached more than 660,000 views.

Faith Over Fear brings experience conducting multi-day crusades like this. Less Than The Least Ministries brings decades of prison ministry experience. Wrong to Strong, The Light Project, The Recovery Gathering, local ministry leaders, musicians, evangelists, prayer warriors, churches, volunteers, and others will each bring the gifts God has given them.

Nobody needs the spotlight.

Jesus already has it.

Get ready, Arizona.

Here comes The Edge Recovery Experience from Less Than The Least Ministries, Wrong to Strong, Faith Over Fear, The Recovery Gathering, The Light Project, and many more Christ-first partners.

We’re coming to share the Gospel, strengthen the Church, support recovery, prepare for reentry, and remind people on both sides of the prison walls that no life is beyond the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
