Kids Club

Kids Club Kids' Club is a faith-based, fun, safe and nurturing environment for kids in grades K-3rd.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:40 to 5:30 at the American Reformed Church in Hull for kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Helen, the director of the after school program, Kids' Block, in Rock Valley, and one of her volunteers, Melinda, came today. Our governing board decided they'd like to offer our assets to them as they lost everything in the flood. They said many times, the kids will be so excited! There are no plans to offer this program in the fall. We are happy our program could bless them.

We celebrated on the last day of Kids’ Club! Miss Harriet served root beer floats! She packed all the extra snacks into bags that each student could bring home!

We recognized the 3rd Graders who graduated from Kids’ Club this year with a devotional book!

We played LOTS of games outside in the beautiful weather!

We had beautiful weather for the last day of Kids' Club. We took end of the year photos before the kids showed up. Harriet Green, kitchen coordinator, Sylvia Eekhoff, co-director, Elaine Boogerd, co-director, Julie Kreun, co-president, Ruth Moss, co-president, Sherry De Wit, vice-president. On 4/30/24, there was lightning & pouring rain just as the Boyden-Hull buses pulled into Hull! A big thank you to Principal Dan Pottebaum for allowing the kids to stay safe inside BHHS until it let up! We did the actions for Psalm 23 and sang “Perfect 10”! We hope this helps the kids remember Psalm 23 & The 10 Commandments!! Then we made Mother’s Day cards! Thanks to funds from Thrivent, we were able to play Magnatiles. A big shout out to Virginia Stange Linneman for doing all the paperwork to make this happen!

Sylvia Eekhoff was hired as a co-director for Kids' Club on September 17, 2017. Elaine Boogerd was hired as co-director in June of 2020. Before Elaine was hired, she was a volunteer from the first day of the program, January 12, 2016. Harriet Green became our kitchen coordinator on June 21, 2021. These women are amazing, and we so appreciate all they have done for the Kids' Club program. They do not plan to return in the fall, and they will be greatly missed.

The kids were all in a tornado shelter at their schools this afternoon. We’re happy that they made it safely to Kids’ Club! We visited Hull Public Library!! Miss Sandy read books to us and we got to do a scavenger hunt!! When we got back to American Reformed Church-Hull, Iowa, we got to read books from Library!!

Our Story

Kids’ Club is a free community and church supported program that runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at American Reformed Church in Hull. The 2019-20 program will run from September 10 until May 7. The directors are Elaine Boogerd and Sylvia Eekhoff.
