Hughes Springs Methodist Church

Hughes Springs Methodist Church We are a just a small town church worshiping a mighty God. Today, the church continues to be a vital part of the community.

We have a lot to offer our community including: Sunday school for all ages, a rejuvenating Sunday worship, weekly Youth ministry, monthly Food Bank & Diaper Bank, and the list goes on and on... The First United Methodist Church of Hughes Springs, Texas was organized in the summer of 1873 and first met in a brush arbor adjacent to natural springs in an area six miles from the nearest town. In 1878

a town plot was laid off and officially named Hughes Springs in honor of the land owners, the Hughes family. One year later, the Hughes family transferred land to the Methodist Trustees on which the First Methodist Church was erected. The First United Methodist Church has been a faithful witness in Hughes Springs and East Texas for nearly 150 years. The church provides regular opportunities for Christian worship, spiritual growth, fellowship, and service. We welcome all people and strive to be, not just a friendly church, but a church where you can make friends and are truly welcomed into the fullness of fellowship as well as participation in the ministries of the church.

As we gather for National Day of Prayer, we invite you to join us in coming together as one body to pray for our nation, our leaders, our communities, and for peace throughout the world. In a time where so many are searching for hope and healing, we believe there is power in people coming together in faith and prayer.

Let this be a day of unity, reflection, and turning our hearts toward God, trusting that He still hears the prayers of His people and moves in powerful ways.

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” — 1 Chronicles 16:24

● Evangelism
● Church Multiplication
● Mission Mobilization
● Unreached People Groups
● Disaster Response

May is Kingdom Advancement Month
The Global Methodist Church desires to be a missional movement of people who are multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the earth who flourish in scriptural holiness as we worship passionately, love extravagantly and witness boldly.

Scripture Sunday 📖

“One body, many parts.” In 1 Corinthians 12, we are reminded that every follower of Jesus has a vital role in the Body of Christ.

In a world that celebrates titles and achievements, it’s easy to feel small or unnoticed. But in God’s Kingdom, our significance is not measured by visibility. What may seem small is never unimportant. Scripture reminds us that every person, every gift, and every act of obedience matters deeply to the Body of Christ.

Your quiet acts of service unseen by others are seen by God and are essential to the life of His Church.

If you’ve ever felt overlooked, remember this: you are seen by God, you are needed in His Church, and have a role that no one else can fulfill. Smallness does not diminish importance.

Comment below to share how God has used you, big or small, to make a difference in someone’s life.

🙏 Heavenly Father, thank you for making me part of the Body of Christ. Help me see the value of every member, including myself. Give me the grace to serve no matter the task, for Your glory and the good of others. Amen

Salvation is not found in the world, only found in Him.

Acts 4:12 says "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

🎉 Today we celebrate 4 years of the Global Methodist Church! 🎉

In just four years, we have seen God move in powerful ways through new churches planted, annual conferences formed across the world, communities reached for Christ, and lives transformed through faithful witness.

We give thanks for the laity and clergy who have prayed, served, sacrificed, led, and loved so faithfully on this journey.

Now we want to hear from you:

🌍 Where have you seen God at work through the Global Methodist Church?
🙏 What are you thanking God for in this season?
⛪ What is one word you would use to describe the past four years?

Drop your answer in the comments as we celebrate all God has done and look ahead with hope and expectation for what He will continue to do.

*Attention church members*

There will NOT be a pancake breakfast before Sunday school tomorrow or for the foreseeable future. Our men's Sunday school class has decided to take a break for a while. We appreciate all of the many breakfasts they have prepared, so if you run into Rod Wright, Danny Lancaster, or Troy Perry, please express your gratitude. We appreciate it, gentlemen!
