Recovery and Grief

Grief changes us.

Whether you've lost a parent, spouse, child, friend, or dream, the pain can feel overwhelming.

Celebrate Recovery provides a safe place to process loss, share your journey, and find hope through Christ.

Healing doesn't mean forgetting.
Healing means learning how to move forward.

The Landing is Celebrate Recovery for students ages 12-18.

Teenagers today face pressures that many adults never had to navigate—social media, anxiety, depression, peer pressure, family struggles, identity issues, and the constant pressure to fit in. The Landing provides a safe place where students can talk honestly, build healthy relationships, and discover God's plan for their lives.

A typical Tuesday night includes:

6:00 PM – Optional Fellowship Meal

7:00 PM – Large Group Gathering
Students come together for worship, prayer, and a lesson or testimony focused on recovery, resilience, and biblical truth.

7:45 PM – Small Groups
Students meet in age- and gender-specific groups where they can discuss the lesson, encourage one another, and build lasting connections in a confidential setting.

9:00 PM – Dismissal

For parents, The Landing can be even more impactful when experienced alongside Celebrate Recovery. If you're struggling to connect with your teen, facing challenges in your relationship, or carrying your own hurts, habits, or hang-ups, you are invited to join the adult Celebrate Recovery program while your student attends The Landing. Recovery can become a journey your family takes together.

No registration, no cost, and no need to have it all together before you come.

Celebrate Recovery Crosby/Huffman needs servant-hearted volunteers.

Several leaders have recently stepped away, and we need faithful people to help fill these roles as soon as possible.

You do not need to know anything about recovery. We will teach you, train you, and walk alongside you until you are comfortable.

Please pray about whether God may be leading you to serve in this difficult but deeply rewarding ministry.

Current needs:

1. I.T. & Sound
Help run the sound system, slides, microphones, lights, and other tech needs. Tech experience is helpful but not required.

2. The Landing — Teen Leadership
We need both a male and female leader for our middle and high school students. Curriculum is already prepared. The first hour is a coed lesson, followed by separate boys’ and girls’ share groups.
We currently have approximately 6–9 teens each week. This is not a light assignment. Many of these teens are healing from serious life experiences, including abuse, dysfunctional families, addiction in the home, mental illness, su***de, and loss. But watching them heal, grow, and learn who they are in Christ is one of the most rewarding blessings you could ever experience.

3. Male Leader/Helper for Celebration Place
This program serves children in kindergarten through 5th grade whose parents are in recovery.

4. Social Media Manager
Most posts are repetitive, but we need someone consistent to help manage posts and, hopefully, live feeds.

***For anyone interested in working with teens or children***

please understand that many of these young people have experienced situations that created deep mistrust of adults. They need consistency, patience, compassion, and understanding. They need adults who show up, speak life, and help — not hurt.
You are not there to fix them. You are there to support them, encourage them, and help educate them on their healing journey. God is the only true fixer.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” NLT 2nd Timothy 3:16.

Have you been feeling a little hopeless lately?
Life has a way of doing that sometimes—when things feel heavy, hope can be hard to hold onto. This week at Celebrate Recovery, we’re focusing on hope—real hope for real life, the kind that doesn’t depend on circumstances. You don’t have to have it all together. If you’re hurting, searching, or just need encouragement, we’d love to see you. Just come.
