Day 2
Novena Prayer:

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, You know the longings of our hearts, and You desire that we enjoy friendship with You.

From Your pierced side, You have poured out the wellspring of life, for which we thirst.

Your heart burns with a love for all people to return to a right relationship with You.

We celebrate the abundant gifts You have given this nation, founded on the self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We make reparation for the offenses against You and against human dignity that have taken place in this nation.

May our hearts be united to Yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness, may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed.

May your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign. pointing all people to Your infinite love.

O Desire of Nations and Center of history, we ask You to bless these United States of America, You Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!

Help Make VBS a Success for Our Children!

Each summer, Vacation Bible School becomes one of the most joyful and impactful weeks in the life of our parish. Through prayer, crafts, music, games, and faith-filled lessons, our children encounter Jesus Christ in a way that is engaging, memorable, and fun.

This year's VBS, taking place June 15–19, will take children on a journey through the life of Christ and the seasons of the Church year, helping them grow in their understanding of our Catholic faith while building friendships within our parish family.

To make this experience possible, we are asking for your help.

🛒 Purchase an item from our Amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/REQVB9UF6M8W?ref_=wl_share

🎉 Happy 8th Anniversary of Ordination, Fr. David! 🎉

Today, we give thanks to God for the gift of our pastor, Fr. David, as he celebrates 8 years of priestly ministry.

For eight years, Fr. David has faithfully answered Christ's call—offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, proclaiming the Gospel, administering the sacraments, and shepherding souls with dedication and love. Through joyful celebrations, difficult moments, and the ordinary days of parish life, he has continually pointed us toward Jesus Christ and His Church.

As a parish family, we are grateful for your spiritual leadership, your devotion to the Eucharist, your commitment to authentic Catholic teaching, and your willingness to serve wherever God calls you.

Please join us in praying for Fr. David today:

🙏 Lord Jesus, Eternal High Priest, bless Fr. David abundantly. Strengthen him in his vocation, fill him with joy in his ministry, protect him from all harm, and grant him many more years of faithful service to Your Church. May Our Lady and St. Philip the Apostle intercede for him always. Amen.

Happy Anniversary, Fr. David! Thank you for your faithful "yes" to Christ and His Church. ❤️

❤️‍🔥 June: The Month of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus ❤️‍🔥

Throughout the month of June, the Church invites us to turn our hearts toward the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a Heart burning with love for humanity, wounded for our sins, and overflowing with mercy for all who come to Him.

In a world that often pulls us away from God, devotion to the Sacred Heart reminds us of a simple but powerful truth: **Jesus loves you personally, completely, and without end.**

As a parish family, we invite you to join us in honoring the Sacred Heart through two special opportunities:

📿 Parish-Wide Novena to the Sacred Heart
🗓 Begins June 3
Pray with us for the renewal of our parish, our families, our nation, and for hearts to be drawn closer to Christ.

🙏 Day of Prayer & Consecration to the Sacred Heart
🗓 June 11
Join us throughout the day as we unite with Catholics across our nation in consecrating ourselves, our families, and our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The day will include prayer, Rosary, Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and fellowship.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is not merely a symbol—it is a reminder that Christ's love remains steadfast, even when we are weak, distracted, or burdened. This June, let us entrust everything to Him and allow His Heart to transform our own.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us and set our hearts aflame with love for You

🔥 What gifts has the Holy Spirit given YOU? 🔥

Every baptized Christian has been entrusted with gifts from the Holy Spirit—not for ourselves alone, but for the building up of Christ's Church.

As we continue our journey through the month of June and reflect on the great gift of Pentecost, I encourage every parishioner to complete the Charisms Inventory and return it to the parish office. Understanding your charisms can help you discover how God is calling you to serve, evangelize, teach, lead, encourage, and build up His Kingdom.

Our parish has many needs right now, particularly in our liturgical and catechetical ministries. Perhaps the Holy Spirit has already equipped you with exactly the gifts needed to help St. Philip continue its mission. The inventory can help identify the unique spiritual gifts God has given you and open the door to a deeper conversation about where He may be calling you to serve.

Remember: the Church is not meant to be carried by a few. Every member of the Body of Christ has a role to play.

Please prayerfully consider completing the Charisms Inventory this month and returning it to me or the parish office. I would be happy to discuss your results and help you discern where the Lord may be calling you to serve.

"To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit."
— 1 Corinthians 12:7

Come discover how God has gifted you—and how those gifts can help transform our parish community.

PRAISE GOD! POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED!

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our parish over the past few days.

Earlier this week, a serious electrical issue was discovered on parish property when smoke and the smell of burning plastic were noticed coming from an electrical pole near the church. The Fire Department and CenterPoint responded quickly and determined that, had it not been for the recent rains, the pole could have caught fire and potentially endangered parish buildings.

Thanks be to God, the problem was identified before a much more serious incident occurred. Emergency repairs were completed today, power has been restored, the air conditioning is running, and all Masses and parish activities will proceed as scheduled.

Unfortunately, these repairs are not covered by insurance. We have applied for assistance through an Archdiocesan Risk Management Grant, though it can’t be guaranteed.

If you would like to help offset these unexpected expenses, please consider making a contribution to our Disaster Repair Fund.

Above all, we give thanks to God for His protection over our parish and for the many prayers offered during this challenge.

“God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress.” — Psalm 46:1

Dear St. Philip family & followers,

We wanted to provide an update regarding the electrical issues currently affecting our parish campus. After discovering significant damage involving electrical cables we have turned off power to our campus to prevent further damage. We are working closely with electricians and seeking additional guidance and multiple bids from reputable companies to determine the best path forward for repairs.

At this time, repairs are expected to exceed $50,000, and there is a possibility we may be without full power through Monday. We are working diligently, and there is still hope some repairs may be completed sooner, though much remains uncertain as assessments continue.

Most importantly: Mass WILL still be celebrated tomorrow. The church may be warm, but Our Lord will still be present, and we invite you to continue joining us faithfully for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Please keep Fr. David, our staff, contractors, and all involved in your prayers as decisions are made and repairs continue. We also ask for prayers for the financial needs this unexpected situation creates for our parish family.

As we learn more, we will continue to keep everyone updated.

“God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress.” — Psalm 46:1
