Join St. Philip’s All Saints Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 30, from 6–8 PM!

🚗 Host a trunk! Choose a Catholic or saint theme with an activity and treat—simple is welcome! Try a halo toss, a Hail Mary prayer scramble, or a St. Joan of Arc “floor is lava” game.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Can’t host a trunk? Bring your family and join the fun!

Today we celebrate St. Carlo Acutis, a young man who reminds us that holiness isn't reserved for a select few. It's a calling for ALL of us!

Carlo loved video games, computers, soccer, and spending time with friends. But above all, he loved Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

🙏 You don’t have to go far to make a pilgrimage.

Our St. Philip Seniors recently visited St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Houston, making a journey of faith together during the Jubilee Year of St. Francis. These beautiful moments remind us of the joy of walking toward Christ in community!

We, too, are invited to become pilgrim people. Go intentionally. Go reverently. Go with a heart prepared to encounter Jesus. Bring your prayers, your gratitude, your burdens, and a willingness to let Him renew your heart.

Opportunities for pilgrimage and a plenary indulgence are available right here in our Archdiocese. Receiving the indulgence includes the prescribed pilgrimage and prayers, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the Pope’s intentions, and freedom from attachment to sin.

Welcome home, Fr. David! After a week away for spiritual formation, Fr. David is back and has plenty to share with our St. Philip family!

This week, he reminds us that our journey of faith is one of continual growth. Through prayer, the sacraments, Scripture, and formation, we learn to recognize God's voice and become better disciples of Jesus Christ.

📖 Catholicism 101 Returns This Week!
We're back together as we continue exploring "Why We're Catholic." Whether you're just beginning or looking to deepen your understanding, there's a place for you!

📝 Disciple Maker Index Survey — We Need YOU!
Only 24% of our parish has participated so far! At the request of Archbishop Joe Vásquez, we're asking every parishioner to share their experience of faith. Your anonymous responses will help Fr. David better understand how to serve and support our parish family.

🙏 Liturgical Ministry Training — October 17
Current and prospective liturgical ministers are encouraged to attend as we continue strengthening our service at Holy Mass.

❤️ A Call to Serve
We still need OCIA sponsors and annulment case sponsors! You don't need to know everything to begin. You need a willing heart and a desire to accompany others on their journey of faith. Training and guidance will be provided.

🎶 Sacred Music Concert — November 15
Mark your calendars for an opportunity to encounter the good, the true, and the beautiful through sacred music.

✝️ Pray for Vocations
Fr. David encourages us to foster a culture of vocations through prayer, encouragement, and a willingness to help others discern God's call.

Today, October 9, we celebrate St. John Henry Newman, priest and Doctor of the Church, whose search for truth led him into the Catholic Church on this day in 1845.

This year marks a special milestone: Pope Leo XIV added his October 9 memorial to the Church’s universal calendar, inviting Catholics around the world to learn from his witness.

Newman’s life invites us to bring our questions to God, keep learning, and follow where He leads—even when the next step requires courage.

Today, October 7, we celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary—a beautiful invitation to slow down and contemplate the life of Jesus with His Blessed Mother.

Why make the Rosary a daily habit?
The traditional Fifteen Promises attributed to Our Lady offer encouragement to those who faithfully and devoutly pray the Rosary: her special protection and graces, strength against sin, growth in virtue, conversion of heart, and spiritual assistance throughout life and at death. These promises invite us to persevere in prayer and draw closer to her Son.

🌮 What a morning!

Our Women’s Guild hosted their very first Taco Breakfast, and it was a wonderful success! Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy breakfast, fellowship, and time together as a parish family.

A special thank you to the women of our Women’s Guild for your generosity, hospitality, and the countless ways you consistently support the life of our parish and our parish families. Your willingness to serve helps create the kind of community where people feel welcomed, known, and at home.

We are so grateful for all you do — and after Sunday’s turnout, we think it’s safe to say:

📌 Parish Schedule Update | October 5th - 9th

Fr. David will be out of the office attending a Spiritual Direction program at the Avila Institute. Please keep him in your prayers as he continues this formation to help guide others in their walk with Christ.

Daily Mass, Confession, and Eucharistic Adoration are canceled during this time. Normal sacramental activities will resume on Tuesday, October 13th.
