Today we celebrate the Feast of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus—three ordinary people whose friendship with Jesus became an extraordinary witness to faith.

In today's Gospel, Martha makes one of the most profound professions of faith in all of Scripture: "Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God." John 11:27)

Each sibling shows us a different aspect of discipleship:
🤲 Martha teaches us to serve.
🙏 Mary teaches us to listen.
❤️ Lazarus reminds us that Christ brings new life where there was once only death.

Their home in Bethany became a place where Jesus was welcomed, loved, and encountered. May our homes—and our parish—be the same.

Today we also remember our neighbors in Kingwood whose parish is named after these beloved friends; praying that the intercession of their patron saints continues to strengthen their parish and school community.

May Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus pray for us, that we may grow as faithful disciples who welcome Christ, trust His promises, and boldly proclaim: "Yes, Lord, I believe."

💎 What is your next faithful step?

In this Sunday’s Gospel, those who discover the treasure and the pearl of great price do more than admire what they have found—they make a concrete decision and reorganize their lives around it.

Jesus Christ is that treasure.

Fr. David’s Discipleship Pathway invites each of us to consider where we are in our spiritual lives and choose one faithful step forward. Perhaps yours is:

🙏 Establishing a consistent prayer routine
🕊️ Returning to Confession
🕯️ Spending time in Eucharistic Adoration
📖 Joining Catholicism 101 or another formation opportunity
❤️ Offering greater kindness, patience, or forgiveness
🤲 Using your gifts to serve our parish and community

The next step does not have to be dramatic—but it should be intentional. Grace transforms us through the small choices we faithfully make each day.

✝ Today we celebrate the Feast of St. James the Apostle ✝

St. James was among the first called by Christ. He didn't simply follow Jesus—he spent his life learning from Him, serving Him, and ultimately giving everything for the Gospel.

In today's Gospel, Jesus reminds us that true greatness isn't found in power or prestige, but in becoming faithful disciples who serve with humility and courage.

Our journey of faith is much the same. We are all pilgrims, continually growing in our knowledge and love of Christ and His Church.

July 19–25 is Natural Family Planning Awareness Week—a time to celebrate and reverence God’s vision for human sexuality, marriage, conjugal love, and responsible parenthood.

Natural Family Planning offers scientific, natural, and morally faithful methods that help married couples understand their fertility and prayerfully discern whether to achieve or postpone pregnancy. Because NFP respects both the love-giving and life-giving purposes of marriage, it supports God’s beautiful design for married love.

This week also marks the July 25 anniversary of *Humanae Vitae*, St. Paul VI’s prophetic encyclical affirming the dignity of married love and the gift of human life.

May we pray for all married and engaged couples—that their love may remain faithful, fruitful, and always open to the grace of God.
