Gifts Don’t Equal Godliness
“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” ~James 4:17
Being good at something doesn't make you morally superior or exempt from God's judgment. Just because you are talented at what you do, doesn’t mean you are a good person. Even though you may be able to sing, preach, teach, and pray the walls down, doesn't give you a free pass to sin. Your talent does not give you a right to do whatever you want to do. God will not excuse wrongdoing. In everything that we do we must honor God and not go against His will. As Christians, we are morally obligated to do good. The gift that God has given us is not a get out of jail free card. We will be judged on how we use our gifts and the spirit in which we do them. Many people use their God given ability for selfish reasons. They seek fame and fortune, some seek attention from the opposite s*x. Always remember that accountability is always present. God sits high and looks low. All that we do is being recorded in heaven. It is imperative that we do things not only the right way, but God's way. Don’t allow your talent or gift get you in trouble with God. He gave you the ability and He can take it away.
