Last night we celebrated Pastor and Mrs. Schout's birthdays. We are so grateful to be celebrating another year with Pastor. He is continuing improve with physical therapy. He now takes small trips walking around the house with a walker. His voice is becoming stronger and clearer too. We continue to pray God gives him strength and increases his appetite and weight.

We hope you have a blessed day, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord.

As of 3:30 yesterday, Pastor no longer needs dialysis. We have asked many of you to specifically pray for God to heal Pastor's kidneys. The doctors said he would never be off dialysis and it was very rare to stop needing it. We are so thankful for another miracle from God. Dialysis was going to be a great financial and physical burden for Pastor and Mrs. Schout.

God performed miracles when Pastor left ICU, when the ventilator was removed, and now with the kidneys. All things the doctors said would never happen. We are so blessed.

At therapy, Pastor has taken 100 steps with a walker and with assistance. His mind is very sharp and he is working hard to improve. The therapist are dumbfounded that the previous hospitals did little to no therapy and he is in bad condition. He doesn't have the strength yet to get himself out of bed or up from a chair.

Because of insurance, Pastor has a few more weeks in rehab with 3 days of therapy. We pray that he will get enough strength to get out of bed and into a chair. This will make it easier at home.

Thank you again for all your prayers and wonderful words of encouragement.

It has been a month since we gave an update. We have been waiting for Pastor to be moved to a rehab facility. While we waited, God continued to work a miracle in his life. The trach has been removed and he is breathing completely on his own. Since this happened, he was able to be moved to a facility in the Grand Rapids area. He was moved last week Friday to a Spectrum Rehab Facility. He is supposed to be there for a few weeks or until he is strong enough to go home. He is not standing on his own and still needs dialysis 3 times a week. We are praying that he will both gain strength to walk and his kidneys heal to where he no longer needs dialysis.

It was evident that God worked a miracle in Pastor's life. The doctors at the last facility said he was of the top 5 worse patients that they have seen recover and leave the facility. The doctor called him Lazerus and a miracle. We are thankful that God is getting the glory for Pastor's healing.

Pastor is now improving quickly so much it is getting the attention of doctors and nurses and acknowledging that it is the hand of God. Last week Monday he was breathing 6 hours on his own. As of yesterday, he was a whole day off the vent. The respiratory therapist says that once he is 5 days off the vent they will remove the trach and stomach tube. His kidneys are functioning, but not filtering. But they are still waking up from all the drugs. He is also having physical therapy now and is sitting on his own and standing with assistance.

The head doctor on Monday said he was very pleased with Pastor's progress. Pastor told him it was prayer to God that made his improvement. The head doctor said he is praying for pastor too. Unfortunately, the pulmonary doctor will not change his diagnosis of vent dependent. But we are seeing that we can work around this diagnosis.

Tuesday, the social worker came back from vacation and was shocked at how much Pastor improved. She said that as of right now, he will be moved to Medilodge of Lansing. But as fast as he was improving, he would not be there long. She then proceeded to say that she knew we were praying people and that we should pray that he continues to improve quickly and he may be accepted in a local rehab program and not have to move to Lansing. She said it was a long shot and to not get our hopes up but to pray.

Mrs. Schout said that she sees the light at the end of the tunnel and that Pastor is blossoming to the man he once was. We are also making head way with insurance.

Thank you to all the prayers warriors out there. God has answered your prayers and we ask that you continue to pray that Pastor improves enough to stay in the Grand Rapids area.

Pastor took some steps backwards. A few weeks ago he had pneumonia and has not really recovered back to where he was weaning off the ventilator. But the real concern for prayer is that his kidneys also stopped improving. If his kidneys improve, it is possible that he can go home and continue therapy there. We are praying for this.

The current facility was only temporary and they want to move him next week. With being on dialysis, the only facilities that would take him are in East Lansing or Detroit. The doctors are talking about a permanent move. We are also asking that you join us in praying that this does not happen. We want Pastor and Mrs. Schout to stay in the area so we can help take care of them.

Again, please pray that his kidneys improve so that he can be removed from dialysis and that he can stay in the Grand Rapids area. Thank you.
