50 years!!! How can it be? Two teens meeting when they were 16 years old at a ballpark! Life continues through high school and then in college you realize this is the one you love! So you get married during Christmas break during your senior year!! God has been so gracious each step of the way. The vows we said in front of God, family and friends become more powerful as the years go by. At the time they’re easily said, now they have such meaning. As a police officer for 30 years, God’s protection never failed. When Dave was given a 1 percent chance of living after his heart attack, it was almost death do us part. Richer and poorer were more evident when raising a young family in terms of money. We were never without, and blessed with needs provided. Now, what will in sickness and in health look like down the road? Whatever, we’ll do it together with our precious Lord by our side. Now comes retirement, when God brings Good News Nepal in our lives, to Reach the Unreached!! We would have never thought we would be part of such an amazing journey in this second half of life. God is so good!! I loved this man when I was 16 and now this love has such a history and depth you can’t put into words. We are so blessed to have each other and God as the center of it all. As God’s word says “a cord of 3 strands is not easily broken”, yes, God is our center and our strands are strong! I love you David Kapteyn, Happy Anniversary!
