The Refuge has become one of the country’s most innovative and provocative alterna-churches and ministries that serve based on a solidarity not charity model. Both domestically and Internationally we are committed to being informed, led, working alongside the various oppressed classes of people here in the US and abroad. We are committed to a bottom up ideal and not a top down ideal. All of the Ministries of the Refuge are autonomous, but under the umbrella and accountability of the Refuge. The Refuge is a multi-faceted experiment. Sermons are impassioned but not really preachy The Refuge lives up to its name—anyone is welcome. It has thus become an outreach to the Poor, the low wage worker, Alternative youth, and the Homeless. On out board of directors we have a wide group which includes lawyers, accountants, and pastors from the area’s evangelical, mainline and Catholic churches. We have worked with the American Indian Movement (AIM), local underground radicals (helping organize a “Keeping the Peace” festival that featured Noam Chomsky, among others), the Uhuru, Food Not Bombs, the fight for 15, and others. We are part of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign (www.economichumanrights.org).This kind of bridge building is crucial to faithful, fruitful outreach. “The reputation of evangelicals on the streets of central Florida is abysmal. They perceive us as at best unconcerned with their plight, and at worst as part of the system that ignores, exploits and abuses them. They need someone to tell them that Jesus is on their side.”

We provide Counseling, support services, spiritual services, food and hygiene item assistance, Financial aid (when available) to families, speaking and consulting, a radio show (The Revolutionary Road Radio Show, like us on facebook), and occasional housing services. We have been around for more than 20 years.

I got bad news at the doc today. I have 3 more blockages all in my right shoulder and up, One at 40%, one at 50% and my carotid to my brain is 80% blocked. So I have to go for carotid imaging and most likely back to surgery to stent that 80%.. guess I'm a stroke waiting to happen.
I just got a new P*P, Dr Sheetah Patel, and she's great...brutally honest with me which is hard but I like that. She may save my life if I let her! I need to be more ccompliant. She spent least 4 hours working on my case and just got some history yesterday, has already order 4 tests, and made next appointment. She said it will probably take three or four appointments like todays'extensive'before getting everything addressed and coordinated. She is revamping my prescriptions too.
Apparently these blockages were there in August of 22 on my cardiologist report and my former P*P never studied my case nor thought it important to mention, and I already felt it was taking way too long to get specialist referrals, sometimes months, which is why I changed P*P. When you're on an HMO it's important that your P*P is proactive so one gets the care one needs! Not only has she already started on referrals but on carotid imagery. If you're in this area don't use Immediate Family Care (Dr Brian Bixler). Use Access health and Dr Patel!!

Anyone have any tips on relieving neuropathy? The cbd works for the pain in my hand I sprained badly but doesn't fix the numbness and burning in my hands and fingertips or feet and toes.
I still haven't been able to sleep. Nodded off from sheer exhaustion but the pain keeps waking me up. I got maybe two hours in since 4.
Can't afford anything not covered by my Humana. But they do cover acupuncture so I thought about that as a possibility.

Any miracle cures out there?

I've been robbed. SD cards, three computers, and of all things hair clippers, but a good set I just bought. All Refuge Ministries ' info was in two of the computers and the other was my disabled son's and his only computer. I need donations to replace or people that have some laptops to donate. . Mine was an 18 inch screen HP with beats stereo. Bruce's was a generic laptop but it was all the info thay was in it that was important. Organizations we aligned with, contacts for shows etc. Just irreplaceable stuff in both his and mine.
But now I don't have one computer in the house to use at all.
