Books for Breakfast had their book selection for the 2026/2027 season on Thursday, May 28. (Details of the book selections will be sent in an email. Meetings will resume in September.

SAVE THE DATE: Northern Waters District Fall Gathering on Saturday, September 12 at HUMC.

The Hudson unit of the United Women in Faith (UWF) will be hosting the Northern Waters District Fall Gathering on Saturday, September 12, at HUMC. We will offer a Continental Breakfast in the Christian Activity Center (CAC) at 8:30 am, and the program will begin at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. Registration is $10, and the deadline to register is September 5.

We are all women united in our desire to make a difference. Through the United Women in Faith, you will find many ways to get involved and make a positive impact. If you are curious about what is involved at the Gatherings of UWF, this would be a great opportunity to join us at the Fall Gathering.

FELLOWSHIP EVENTS:

Mary Martha Circle will be hosting a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon at the Orchard School on Thursday, May 7. There will be carpooling from the church at 10:00 a.m. Watch your email for more information. Mary Martha meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

Priscilla Circle will meet on Wednesday, May 27, at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Marcia Rais will be sharing key points learned from the recent bible study class on Joseph. Bring your own brown bag dinner and drink to enjoy. Priscilla Circle usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Books for Breakfast will meet on Thursday, May 28, at 9:30 a.m. for their 2026/2027 book selection at the home of Michelle Novosel. Books for Breakfast meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m.

Attention Ladies: YOU ARE INVITED

All Ladies and young Ladies of Hudson United Methodist Church are invited to participate in the United Women in Faith Worship Service on Sunday, April 12. All women are encouraged to participate in the worship service as a reader, greeter, usher, or as a member of the Hudson UWF Choir.

The special guest speaker will be Rev. Joy Fenton Jones. Her message "I Doubt It" will be from the Gospel of John 20:19-31.

MISSIONS: “Gifts from the Heart” Update!

The United Women in Faith would like to thank this generous, loving congregation for its monetary donations to the “Gifts from the Heart” endeavor we sponsored recently. Because of your compassionate hearts, a total of $1633.00 was collected.

The money will be equally divided between the Center of Hope in Ravenna and Heart 4 the City in Akron. The blessing you provided means many people will be able to obtain food for themselves and their families. There can be no better gift than doing as we were taught. “Whatever you did for the least of my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.” May each of you be blessed because of the love you gave.

Pancake Breakfast -- Thank You

Sunday, March 15, was a special Sunday. It started with a beautiful service in the sanctuary, with the concentration being on “trust”. In addition, the pews were full with so many who came to worship “in person”. Our hearts were joyful as we moved to the CAC. There, we viewed ASP items set up for the auction, and we witnessed so many people interacting and just enjoying fellowship with one another.

We offered and served a pancake breakfast to raise funds for missions we support. Once again, you overwhelmingly supported our efforts with a total donation of $800. We sincerely thank you. We felt so blessed as we enjoyed serving you and observing the love that sparked the air! “God can take the ordinary and create the extraordinary!”

Mary Martha Circle will be meeting on Thursday, April 9. They will be hiking at Oak Hill and then having lunch at FlipSide. Meet at the church at 9:30 am to carpool.

Priscilla Circle will meet on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:00 pm at the church. They will be working on a project for First Serve that involves cutting strips from plastic grocery bags to make mats. Please bring your own scissors, brown bag dinner, and drink.
Priscilla Circle usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm.

Books for Breakfast will meet on Thursday, April 23, at 9:30 am at the Hudson Library. The book for discussion is Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST MARCH 15, 2026
The United Women of Faith will be hosting the annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Sunday, March 15, from 10:30 am -12:30 pm in the CAC (Christian Activity Center). Treat yourself to a delicious breakfast of pancakes, lots of yummy toppings, sausage, juice, coffee, and tea. (Gluten-free pancakes available on request.) We will do the dishes! A freewill offering will be available to support one of UWF's Mission Projects.

Many Thanks for Your Pledge Donations
All women of the Hudson United Methodist Church are members of our United Women in Faith chapter, and we encourage you to get involved with our many activities. The pancake breakfast is coming up on March 15, and UWF Sunday on April 12. Join us to lend a hand. The pledge drive letters were sent out in January, and pledge donations can still be made. As of February 18th, 32 women have contributed a total of $5280. Thank you so much.

MISSIONS:
“Gifts from the Heart” -- UWF Mission Project

The Hudson United Women in Faith is sponsoring their mission project, Gifts from the Heart (formerly Brown Bags) food program, which will begin Sunday, February 15.

We will be supporting the Center of Hope (Ravenna) and Heart 4 the City (NE Akron). Your monetary donation makes a difference. For every $1 donation, the Foodbank can provide the equivalent of 4 meals to the Center of Hope and Heart 4 the City. To make a donation by check, please make your check payable to Hudson UMC with “Gifts from the Heart” noted in the memo. The deadline is Sunday, March 1.

UWF THANKSGIVING DINNER - FREE-WILL OFFERING - UPDATE
The United Women in Faith would like to again thank everyone who attended and contributed to the Thanksgiving Dinner Free-Will Offering. UWF had publicized that the offering would be sent to MedWish, and that has taken place. The money has assisted with helping to defray costs to repair their tow motor/forklift, which is critical to storing and pulling items from their warehouse for shipment. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by the UWF and especially the staff of MedWish MedWorks.

2026 UWF Pledge Drive: Accolades to the Women of our Church

United Women in Faith…We seek to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education, so they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.

In 2025, 36 generous women pledged over $5000 to our Hudson UWF unit. Through these gifts, we supported the following organizations: UMCOR Disaster Relief, Med Wish, Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center, Flat Rock Homes, Stewart's Caring Place, Open M, Church World Service, Mission Barn, the Great Trails Council of the Scouts, and Kids Capes for Courage. With additional fundraising throughout 2025, our mission giving totaled over $10,000. Thank you for your wonderful generosity!

Our 2026 pledge drive is underway, and checks can be made payable to Hudson UMC and mailed to our Hudson UMC Financial Secretary, 2670 Hudson-Aurora Road, Hudson, OH 44236. Please write UWF Pledge in the check memo line.

If you prefer to give online, visit the church website (hudsonumc.com) and pull down the GIVE tab to proceed. Money raised goes to missions and outreach. Exciting activities are planned for 2026 through our service, circles, and book clubs.
