Dear Friends and Supporters of ACTS for Messiah,
We want to share an important update about the ministry you have faithfully supported over the years. With gratitude to HaShem and to all of our donors through whom He has provided over the years, the U.S.-based operations of ACTS for Messiah are closing.
You have been part of the work of ACTS for Messiah through your prayers, encouragement, and financial support. For more than 20 years, Emily Dwyer dedicated her life to caring for vulnerable children, providing them with a home, education, stability, and faith in Yeshua.
Today, we are grateful to see the results of those efforts. The children who once were orphaned and, on the streets, and in need of care and support, have grown into independent adults with families, careers, and opportunities of their own. They are working in fields such as government, nursing, teaching, business, information technology, and more.
The past number of years has brought a significant change in the ministry. Emily has retired and is no longer serving in Uganda. With the children Emily raised now grown and increasingly independent, the work in Uganda enters a new season. Stanley, along with his wife, children, Alex, and the extended AFM family, are preparing to move from Tororo to a village property where they will focus on building a self-sufficient life. Thanks to AFM, they already have land, housing, livestock, and resources in place to support this transition. But without a fulltime missionary on the ground, we can no longer steward the work or continue the mission.
Because of these changes, the U.S.-based operations of ACTS for Messiah will officially close at the end of June.
While this chapter is coming to an end, we do so with gratitude for all that HaShem has accomplished through the ministry. We are reminded of Philippians 1:6: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Messiah Yeshua.”
Although formal fundraising efforts in the U.S. will end, your prayers for Stanley, his family, and the community Emily pioneered are appreciated.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your generosity, prayers, and support have made an immeasurable difference in many lives, and we are grateful for each of you. May HaShem richly bless you for your generosity and for your compassion for His children in Uganda.
With gratitude,
Emily Dwyer and ACTS for Messiah
