Founded in 1992, Reach Mission Trips is a Christian based week long mission of service to local communities. Working with local agencies and/or local churches, Reach Mission Trips seeks to make an impact on homeowners, communities, students and adults who attend. It is a life-changing experience as campers participate in activities that build community and self-esteem, encourages spiritual growth, and enables them to understand their role in combating poverty. Reach strives to be the industry leader by providing the highest quality Christian mission trips for Jr. High youth groups. During the mission weeks, July 5-11, 2020 or July 12-18,2020 between 300 and 450 youth and adults each week will descend upon our local communities to help elderly, disabled or lower income neighbors with basic home improvements, including interior or exterior repair, step replacement, deck or porch building, wheelchair ramp installation, roofing, drywall work, flooring and other common necessities in order to allow people to remain safely in their homes. All of this work performed during the mission week is done at no cost to the homeowner. Reach mission trips is a faith based organization with its home office in Galeton, Colorado. After attending Reach mission trips for many years, Trinity United Methodist Church was been blessed with the opportunity of hosting a mission trip in Columbia County in 2017. They are additionally blessed to be able to bring Reach Mission Trips back to the area with the help of several other local churches. The mission trip in July 2020 will be focused on helping disabled, elderly and low income families in Columbia County with significant home repairs at no cost to the homeowner. Teens along with their adult volunteers will be traveling from all parts of the country to come together to help work on these homes. Our vision is to use this opportunity to not only give back to our community but also to bring our community together as one.
