The Scripture reading for this Sunday is another sharing of the
parable about Seed and Soil found in Mark 4:2-8. The focus of this parable has to do with various kinds of soil and what happens when even "Good Seed" is sown upon it. Like Matthews version of the parable, and many of Jesus' parables, we need help understanding the meaning, and not left to our endeavor and insight to figure out. The most important part which we need to take to heart is this: "Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundredfold." The message share this day is that "Dirt Matters."

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

If you are able to come and join us in-person. We are mindful of everyone's health, so masks will be provided, but they are optional.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “We’ve A Story To Tell To The Nations”, Prayer Response: "In This Very Room", Communion Hymn: “Seeds Scattered and Sown”, and our Closing Song: “Go, My Children, with My Blessing”.

The Scripture reading for this Sunday is another cautionary parable found in Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43. Again, the parable has to do with the Kingdom of Heaven being like sowing good seed into a field, but the field was sabotaged by the sowing of weeds into good soil. The workers of the field are thrown into chaos, but not the Master of the house. He tells them to "Let it all grow," to endure the situation until the time of harvest. Then the unuseable and usable will be separated and the wheat will be gathered into the barn.

Jesus' disciples need some help understanding all the symbolism, so he explains it to them. Basically, the Kingdom of Heaven is in God's hands, and God will provide in God's time for the children of Kingdom. All who believe in Jesus as the Christ are children of God.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “Praise, My Soul, the God of Heaven”, Prayer Response: "Change My Heart", Communion Hymn: “Be Known to Us in Breaking Bread”, and our Closing Song: “Go, My Children, with My Blessing”.

The Scripture reading for this Sunday is found in Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23. This is parable of the Sower is not only shared by Jesus, but he also takes time to explain it to his disciples and us. Look closely, because this parable is not only about seeds, it's about the soil as well. Soil, like human beings, is shaped by its environment. What does it take to become good soil so that the seeds can take hold and grow as God intended? The thing is, good soil takes years to cultivate. As we continue our journey through Pentecost may we be like those “who hear the word and understand it, who indeed bear fruit” and yield an abundant harvest in the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

The Scripture reading for this Sunday is found in Romans 7:15-25a. Here we find the Apostle Paul in a battle with himself. Paul simply can’t understand what he does. He repeatedly asserts that he knows what’s right and holy. Yet the apostle also just as persistently insists that he doesn’t do what he knows is right and holy. This is true for us as well. For example, the Bible calls us to feed the hungry and care for society’s vulnerable members. Yet God’s dearly beloved people sometimes get either so busy or distracted that we neglect those central tasks. It’s vital that Christians continue to learn God’s will for our lives as well as pass on that knowledge the next generations. But it’s perhaps equally important to remember that such knowledge doesn’t guarantee obedience.

However, Paul gives us hope in that we are freed, as Jesus’ friends, to be honest about our struggles to respond to God’s amazing grace with our obedience. And we are also graciously called to be patient with our own as well as each other’s sins and shortcomings.

May we receive and proclaim this Good News shared by Paul.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “Praise, My Soul, the God of Heaven”, Prayer Response: "Change My Heart", Communion Hymn: “I Come with Joy”, and our Closing Song: “God Who Touches Earth with Beauty”.

The Morning Message is based on the short, but powerful, Scripture reading found in Mathew 10:40-42. As Jesus comes to the end of his teaching, in what we know as the Sermon on the Mount, he speaks about the rewards of welcoming. Welcoming is a characteristic of Church, and Church (we are the Church together) is missional in nature. There is simply no other way to be the church! This understanding is being recovered in our own day with the missional church movement. There is growing awareness that mission is not just a program of the church; it is (or ought to be) the defining purpose of everything the church does.

May we gain a greater understanding of our call to be Church, as we journey through this season of Pentecost. May we welcome and be welcomed in the name of Jesus Christ.

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “O Beautiful for Spacious Skies”, Prayer Response: "Change My Heart", Communion Hymn: “Here at Thy Table, Lord”, and our Closing Song: “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee”.

The Morning Message is a reflection of the Scripture reading from Mathew 10:24-39. Here we find that Jesus recognizes that fear will also cause the failure of discipleship. Jesus’ disciples courageously leave the security of their homes and families to follow him as they proclaim the advent of God’s reign, but they, too, will know and ultimately bow before the power of fear. Faithful proclamation and practice of the gospel inevitably puts disciples on a collision course with the powers of this world. So, as Jesus prepares his disciples for their mission to the “lost sheep of the house of Israel,” he is starkly realistic about the threats they will face, at the same time he builds the case for why they should not let this fear master them or hinder their witness.

May we be blessed with a greater understanding of our call to discipleship, knowing that the Light of Christ dispels our fear and helps us see the way, as we walk with faith through this season of Pentecost.

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

The Morning Message is a reflection of the Scripture readings from Mathew 9:35-10:8. Packed into this passage is a description of not only the calling we have as Jesus’s disciples to be people who proclaim the good news through our actions, it also gives us a real-time picture of how Jesus feels for us. We don’t have nearly as many live-action emotive moments from the Christ in the gospels as we do stories that share the heart and affection of God for his people—but when we do, they really pop a wallop.

May we gain a greater understanding of God's Spirit working through our lives and our faith as we journey through this season of Pentecost.

The Morning Message is "Can These Bones Live Again?", a reflection of the Scripture readings from Ezekiel 37:1-14. Here is the account of the Valley of Dry Bones. This is might certainly the most beloved and well known of Ezekiel’s visions. The vividness of its imagery, the wonder of its unfolding narrative, and visceral appeal of its symbolism endow it with a sort of plug-and-play appeal–even an uninitiated reader can engage with this wonderful story. And yet the story becomes even more powerful when the reader learns something about its historical context, literary background, and theological symbolism.

May we gain a greater understanding of the breath of God's Spirit that brings life in our lives and our faith as we journey through this season of Pentecost.

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

On this Holy Birthday of the Church, May 28th, we gather to Worship God and share in the Celebration of Pentecost. Please come join us at 10:30a.m., when Rev. Bob Hutson returns to lead us in Worship for the morning.

The Scripture readings this Sunday is from Acts 2:1-21. Here is the account of the Holy Spirit coming to establish the foundation of the Church. In this encounter we are not to regard Pentecost as an entirely singular occurrence. This scene introduces a sequence of occasions in which the Spirit mobilizes Jesus’ followers and inaugurates new directions for ministry and community. It is the Holy Spirit that enables us to be the Church at work in the world.
May the Spirit of God lead us to experience our faith in ways both great and small as we journey through this season of Pentecost.

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “Come, Holy Spirit, Fill This Place”, Prayer Response: "Change My Heart", Communion Hymn: “Spirit of the Living God”, and our Closing Song: “Where the Spirit of the Lord Is”.

On Sunday, May 21st, we gather to Worship God and continue our journey of Eastertide leading us to the Celebration of Pentecost. Please come join us at 10:30a.m., when Rev. Joe Campbell returns to lead us in Worship for the morning.

The Scripture readings this Sunday is from John 17:1-11. The lectionary places Jesus’ prayer concerning glory at the end of the Easter season, but in John’s gospel the prayer occurs at the end of the last supper, so that it leads into the passion. According to John’s gospel, eternal life comes from a relationship with the eternal God. It begins now in faith, as people come to know the love of the God who made them. And such life has a future through the promise of resurrection. May the Love of God enable us to experience the coming of God's Spirit during Pentecost.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “To God Be the Glory”, Prayer Response: "Change My Heart", Communion Hymn: “We Place Upon Your Table, Lord”, and our Closing Song: “Go, My Children, with My Blessing”.

As we gather to Worship God and celebrate Mother's Day, on May 14th, we are grateful to have Rev. Ed Allen return and lead us in Worship for the morning. Our journey through this Eastertide is bring us ever closer to our Celebration of Pentecost. Please come join us at 10:30a.m.

One of the Scripture readings this Sunday is from 1 John 4:7-11, 18.
Here John wants to make sure that we understand that love is not
an optional virtue for the believer. It is to be the distinguishing mark of the church in the world. John goes so far as to say that if you do not love others, you do not know God (4:8). So we all need to examine our own lives by this supreme standard. May the Lord of God enable us to continue our journey of faith throughout this Eastertide and beyond.

Every Sunday we have the opportunity to gather in prayer, song, and Holy Communion (all are welcome at the Table of the Lord), as well as receiving an inspirational message based on Holy Scriptures. We hope that you can join in person.

Join us in music and songs during worship with the Prelude and Postlude, Opening Hymn: “All Things Bright and Beautiful”, Prayer Response: "Change My Heart", Communion Hymn: “Seeds, Scattered and Sown”, and our Closing Song: “Living for Jesus”.
