Job 1:1 says, “There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job and that man...eschewed evil.” That means he hated evil. Does that describe you as a Christian? If you love God, it should because Psalm 97:10 says, “You that love the Lord hate evil.” A believer cannot love God and sin. Evidence of loving God is hating sin. I hate sin, and love Jesus, because my sin nailed Him to the cross.

In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you.” In those words, I hear Jesus speaking to Christians today. He assures us that we don’t have to live in fear no matter what we read in the newspapers. Jobs can be lost, homes can be lost, Christians can be persecuted, but Jesus tells us that our hearts do not need to be troubled.

I John 2:28 reads, “Little children, abide in Christ, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.” This verse teaches that Jesus is coming and we should live every minute, of every day, for Him. Christians should live every day as if they knew that day was their last day on this earth. Do nothing you wouldn’t want to be doing when the Lord Jesus comes to take you to Heaven.

For to this end, Christ both died, and rose...that He might be Lord...of the...living. (Romans 14:9) Jesus died for us that He might be our Saviour, but He was raised, from the dead so that He could be the Lord of our lives. The question is, have you made Christ the Lord of your life? If you are a Christian, this Easter would be a good time to crown Jesus the Lord, the king, the master, of your life. He lives to be the Lord of your life. On the cross He was crowned for you.

Happy Easter,

In John 11 we read that Jesus’ friend Lazarus died and when he approached his tomb he wept. Those who were there said, “see how he loved Him.” (v36) The good news is Jesus loves you just as personally. It thrills me to know that Christ loves me as an individual. He proved his love for you, and me, by giving his life for us on the cross. In Galatians 2:20 the Bible says that Christ loves us and gave himself for us. This is what we remember on Palm Sunday.

In Jeremiah 8:6 we find this question: What have I done? That’s a personal question. I believe there are some questions you must ask yourself. The questions are: What have I done with God? What have I done with the Bible? What have I done with my spiritual gifts or talents? What have I done with God’s money? What have I done with my opportunities to serve the Lord? What have I done with Jesus? “What have I done?” is a Biblical question. Everyone needs to be sure they have done the right thing with the things above.

Last week the Holy Spirit reminded me of what the Bible says in Ephesians 4:32. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Be ye kind one to another.” As I read that verse, a thought came to my mind: Kind people are the kind of people I enjoy being around. A kind Christian is the kind of Christian I want to be. What about you?

Every human being on earth needs to be ready to go to heaven by receiving Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. (John 1:12) But, after receiving Him, every Christian needs to work, serve, and live for Him, with the full assurance and awareness that someday he will stand before the Lord to give an account of the lives that they have lived. (II Corinthians 5:10)

Jeremiah 21:8 says, “Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life.” The way God wants us to live our lives as Christians is found in His Word, the Bible. Read it and you will see it, find it. The Bible is the only book that God shows us how to live life.

I am a veteran and very proud of it. (1965-1968) As a Christian, I am a spiritual soldier. I’m in the Lord’s army. The Bible tells me that the Lord Jesus is my captain, He is my commanding officer. His Word, the Bible, is my code of conduct. Ephesians 6 tells me that faith, prayer, and the Bible are my weapons of warfare. I thank God that I am a soldier and as Paul the Apostle tole me to do I will fight a good fight. I’m in God’s army, and I will not get out, sell out, be talked out, or pushed out. I’m in it until Jesus comes or to the day I die. II Timothy 2:3 tells me that as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, I must endure hardships. There’s no quit in a good soldier.
