We are a Bible believing Christian church preaching the word of God with no compromise each Sunday at 11am with Pastor Glen Woods and his wife Wanda. Hubbardton Liberty Church was founded in 1778 in honor of the American and British solders who fought and died on the battlefield here in Hubbardton. It started as a home fellowship under the New England Baptist Convention, and remains a Baptist chur
ch to this day. The building was constructed in 1800 on donated land, and is still mostly original inside. Minor modernization's have happened over the years along with some upgrades like electricity and an oil hot air furnace. And of course, the beautiful stained glass window in the back of the church, which was added in the mid-1800’s. It came from Middletown Springs by horse and wagon and was installed by the towns people. The most recent addition is a fellowship hall which was built this past fall (2019) by a volunteer group from Allens Creek church in North Carolina directly in front of the church. When completed, the hall will have a small kitchen and a bathroom. Currently our church is one of three with a functioning out house in the state of Vermont. The parsonage was built in 2013 just down the road on land donated by the same family that donated the land for the church. Several men have pastored the church through the years, two of whom are buried in the East Hubbardton Cemetery on Frog Hollow Road. While the church has had many starts and stops through out its time of operation, our goal is to see it continue to serve the community for many years to come. We hold our services at 1100 each Sunday, with Christmas Eve services held on the perspective day. Our services are welcoming to all and filled with biblical truth as well as lively yet solid Christian music.
