Today our nation observes Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrates the enduring pursuit of freedom, dignity, and justice.
As we remember this important moment in our nation's history when our forefathers abolished this sinful practice; we also honor the faith, resilience, and contributions of generations of African Americans whose lives and stories have shaped our communities, our churches, and our country.
We give thanks for every person who has worth as an image bearer of God. We recognize that our Faithful Creator made us all of one blood and one human race. We celebrate the freedom found in Christ, who unites people from every tribe, tongue, and nation
