The Mahayana Sutra and Ta**ra Center's Tibetan lunar calendar for the coming Iron Ox Year (2148) is now available for purchase. The calendar identifies all the major Buddhist holidays and monthly Tsechu dates. You can obtain it from the First Kalmyk Buddhist Temple at 47 East 5th St, Howell, NJ 07731 for the usual cost of $5.00. Dear Dharma friends,
As some of you are aware, there has been some recent discussion about organizing a Lamrim class in New York City. In addition, over the past month or two I have been teaching a Tibetan language class to a small group at the Rashi Gempil Ling Temple, here in Howell. Due to the current COVID-19 health crisis, it is unwise to continue meeting in person for either class, so we have decided to continue holding the Tibetan class remotely, probably via the Zoom video conferencing app.
We are planning to hold the first remote class this Sunday, March 22, starting at 1:00 p.m. We will begin going over a recitation text for the Lamrim preliminary practices entitled "Necklace for the Fortunate." The English translation of this recitation is available in Appendix C of Liberation in Our Hands, Part One. The Tibetan version will be made available in a digital form for anyone that wants it. If this online format works well, we may decide to continue using it for the foreseeable future, at least until it is safe to meet in groups once again.

Learn Classical Tibetan
An introductory class on Tibetan language is being organized at the Rashi Gempil Ling Buddhist Temple, located at 47 East 5th Street in Howell, New Jersey. No prior knowledge of the subject is required. The class will be taught by Art Engle and will meet for an hour on Tuesday evenings, beginning on October 22 at 5:00 p.m. The classes are free of charge and are open to the public.
