A HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH ✨

With overwhelming support, the 2026 General Conference has OFFICIALLY ADOPTED the Articles of Faith, affirming our Wesleyan heritage and establishing a shared expression of the faith that unites us in Jesus Christ.

Together, these Articles speak to who we are, what we believe, and the faith we carry forward as one global connection.

May we hold fast to this faith, walk together in the power of the Holy Spirit, and faithfully proclaim Jesus Christ to a world in need of His grace. 🙏🌍

We are grateful for Rev. Dr. Scott Pattison.

Today, as the Global Methodist Church welcomed new bishops into leadership, we also want to pause and give thanks for the gift of Scott to the Great Lakes Annual Conference.

Long before Great Lakes had a name, Scott was helping lay the groundwork for what would become this conference. Since then, he has continued to give his time, wisdom, pastoral heart, and leadership to help our Great Lakes region grow.

We were proud to see Scott's name among those considered for the episcopacy. While today brought a different outcome, it does not change the deep gratitude we have for his leadership or the confidence we have in the work God has entrusted to him.

Scott will continue serving as our Conference Superintendent, and we are thankful for that.

There is still much work to do. There are churches to strengthen, leaders to equip, communities to reach, and people to introduce to the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Scott, thank you for saying yes to God's call again and again, and for the many ways you continue to say yes to Great Lakes.

We are grateful for you, grateful for your leadership, and hopeful for all that lies ahead.

🙏 Join us in praying for Nepal in the aftermath of flash flooding that led to devastating mudslides. We received word from our churches in the area–several churches have been damaged, and members or pastors are missing or tragically died. For Timure Church in Rasuwa, only the pastor survived.

The GMC disaster response team is actively working with churches in this area. Pray for the churches, families, missing people and the affected communities.

To our brothers and sisters in Nepal–we care about you and are praying for you.
