EXTRACTS FROM RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SCHENCKS CEMETERY
1. All full burials must be underground and must be done by Schencks Cemetery personnel only. Cremations may be either underground, done by Schencks Cemetery personnel, or above ground if contained in a sealed, locked container specifically designed for that purpose. No more than two burials are allowed on any one space.
2. So as not to hinder mowing, there shall be no fences, hedges, railings, or borders allowed, and nothing may be planted permanently on lots. Decorations and potted plants must be placed within nine inches of the monument base. The Association reserves the right to remove any objects not meeting these stipulations.
3. Nothing may be placed on lots containing language or objects deemed by the Cemetery Association to be offensive, improper, or injurious to the appearance of the surrounding lots or the grounds. The Association shall have the right, and it shall be their duty, to remove all offensive or improper objects.
4. There shall be a 30-inch-deep base for all gravestones and plaques. The base shall extend four inches on all four sides of the stone or plaque. Plaques must be level with the ground. Contact a Cemetery official for layout. Pease advise monument dealers of this regulation.
5. Perpetual Care does not cover upkeep of individual monuments or flush memorials (plaques) unless damaged by a Cemetery employee or contractor hired by the Association.
6. Cemetery hours, dawn to dusk only.
NOTE: These rules and regulations may change periodically. Please check the Cemetery’s page (Schenck’s Cemetery Association) for most current information and contact information.
