Good Friday: The ULTIMATE Sacrifice

It does seem odd that we would call this day “good”. It only makes sense when you realize that “it is finished” didn’t mean it was over.

But sin separated us from God and Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus had to die to save us from our sins. But, more importantly, He chose to die because He loves us.

He didn’t deserve the cross (crucifixion/death), but He took care of the cost.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

We have the gift of eternal life and salvation ONLY because of Jesus.

He suffered, yes. He died, yes. But it was the power of sin and death over us that was defeated that day. Because of Jesus we are not just free… we are REDEEMED!

Lord help us to love and serve like You and remember the sacrifice You made. Lord help us to trust Your will over our own.

Wednesday: A Quiet Day

The plot to kill Jesus was in motion.

It was a quiet day for Jesus, but not everything that day was peaceful, when, Judas, one of Jesus’ disciples, agreed to betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver!

Let this be our reminder that we are called to be sold out to Jesus not bought out to betray Him. Lord, guard our hearts from sin and evil.

We belong to You, Jesus! It is our prayer that we see You and choose You every time. Lord, be the center of it all.
