Day 5: Giving God the Glory That Belongs to Him Reading: Ephesians 3:20-21

Devotional: Paul reminds the church at Ephesus that God is able to do far beyond anything we could ask or imagine, according to the power that is already at work within us. The passage ends not with a celebration of human achievement but with glory given to God in the church and in Christ Jesus. When we walk in God's authority, accomplish things in God's name, and then attribute the results to God rather than ourselves, something remarkable happens. God is glorified, others are drawn to what they see in us, and God entrusts us with even more. Acknowledgment and attribution to God are not mere formalities. They are the fuel that keeps the fire burning.

Reflection: When was the last time you publicly gave God credit for something he did through you?

Practical Application: Share with someone this week, whether in conversation, in writing, or in a group setting, a specific testimony of something God has done through your life and give him the full credit for it.

Day 4: The Danger of Misusing What God Has Given Reading: 2 Samuel 11:1-5

Devotional: The story of David and Bathsheba is a sobering reminder that proximity to power does not guarantee integrity in its use. David was a man after God's own heart, yet in a moment of idleness and self-indulgence, he used his position to take what was not his. One act of abuse led to another and then another, each one compounding the damage. God grants authority to bless others, not to satisfy ourselves. When we use spiritual influence, relational power, or positions of leadership for personal gain, we are not just failing others. We are robbing God of the glory that was meant to flow through our obedience.

Reflection: Are you currently using any area of influence or authority for your own benefit rather than for the good of others?

Practical Application: Ask a trusted friend or mentor to speak honestly into your life about how you are using the influence God has given you.

Day 3: Moving from Invitation to Action Reading: Philippians 4:13

Devotional: Paul's declaration that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him was not written from a place of comfort. It was written from prison. His confidence was not theoretical. It was forged through repeated obedience and action. An invitation to an event means nothing if you never walk through the door. God's authority in your life is not a decoration to admire. It is a commission to act upon. Walking in God's authority means allowing your faith to move your feet. Every act of service, every word of encouragement, every sacrifice made in God's name is a step taken in that authority.

Reflection: What is one step of obedience you have been postponing?

Practical Application: Identify one concrete act of service or witness you can complete this week and commit to doing it before the week ends.

Day 2: Accepting the Terms of God's Call Reading: John 14:12

Devotional: Jesus tells his followers that those who believe in him will do the works he did, and even greater works. This is an extraordinary promise, but it comes with an implied condition rooted in belief and obedience. God's authority is not a blank check to be used however we choose. It operates within the boundaries of God's purposes and direction. Some people are aware of what God has called them to do but resist because they want to do things their own way. Accepting God's authority means surrendering our preferred agenda and stepping into the one God has already prepared for us.

Reflection: Is there an area of your life where you are aware of God's direction but have been resisting the terms of that calling?

Practical Application: Write down one specific area where you sense God's call. Pray over it and ask God to help you accept his terms rather than your own.

Devotional: The Great Commission begins not with a command but with a declaration of authority. Before Jesus tells the disciples to go, he establishes that all power in heaven and on earth belongs to him. Many believers live spiritually impoverished lives not because God has withheld anything, but because they remain unaware of what has been made available to them. Like a student who jogs around campus in the rain while a fully equipped fitness center sits nearby, we often exhaust ourselves through our own efforts when God's resources are already at hand. Spend time today in God's word. Learn what belongs to you.

Reflection: What spiritual resource or promise of God have you been overlooking?

Practical Application: Set aside fifteen minutes to read one chapter of Scripture specifically looking for a promise you have not yet claimed or acted upon.

Day 5: Walking in Your Orders

Reading: Acts 9:1-20

Devotional: Saul was stopped on the road to Damascus not to be destroyed but to be redirected. God did not waste Saul's intensity, his knowledge, or his drive — He transformed them. The same fire that once drove Saul to persecute believers became the fire that drove Paul to plant churches and write letters that still shape the faith of millions. Your history is not disqualifying. Your past experiences, your personality, your particular way of seeing the world — these are not obstacles to your calling. They are the raw material God uses when you surrender them to Him. Find out who you are in Christ, and walk in it.

Reflection Question: How has God already been using your unique personality, background, or gifts in ways you may not have recognized as part of your calling?

Practical Application: This week, take one concrete step toward the calling or assignment you know God has placed on your life. Do not wait until you feel fully ready. Walk in your orders.

Day 4: Crying Out From the Deep

Reading: Jonah 2:1-10

Devotional: Jonah prayed from the belly of a fish. There was nowhere lower to go, nowhere darker to be, and no exit he could manufacture on his own. Yet from that place of complete helplessness, he cried out to God — and God heard him. The sermon reminds us that when you call on God, He answers. Your affliction does not disqualify your prayer. Your location does not limit God's reach. Whether you find yourself in a storm of your own making or one that came without warning, the posture of crying out to God in faith is always the right response. He hears from the deep.

Reflection Question: Have you ever felt too far gone or too ashamed to call on God? What does Jonah's prayer teach you about God's willingness to hear you?

Practical Application: Write your own honest prayer today. Do not polish it. Write it from wherever you actually are, and trust that God hears it.

Day 3: Running From Your Assignment

Reading: Jonah 1:1-17

Devotional: Jonah knew exactly who he was and what he was called to do — and he ran anyway. Sometimes we do not struggle with ignorance of our calling. We struggle with obedience to it. The storm that pursued Jonah was not punishment alone; it was redirection. God will disrupt your comfort when your comfort is keeping you from your purpose. The mariners, experienced men of the sea, were terrified by what one man's disobedience stirred up. Your choices affect those around you. When you resist your identity and calling, the people in your boat feel it too.

Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life where God has given you clear direction and you have chosen to go the opposite way?

Practical Application: Spend ten minutes in honest prayer today, naming the area where you have been running, and ask God for the courage to turn around.
