The ministry of Worship seeks to make liturgy the source of spiritual growth and development of the Church in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. A multi-faceted ministry, it includes: the promotion of divine worship and liturgical music as vital to our prayer in full accord with the directives of the Church; discovering art and architecture which help create good environments for worship and sp

irituality; assistance in the preparation of good liturgical celebrations with an eye to nurturing faith in all those participating. The Office of Worship serves as a resource center for liturgical ministry materials, ministry formation and consultation.

Congratulations to St. Nicholas Catholic Church-Houston's Historic Parish on the beautiful dedication of your altar on the Vigil of Pentecost!
May this altar always be a place where heaven touches earth, where the Holy Spirit moves powerfully, and where many souls encounter Christ in the Eucharist.

Join us in praying for seminarians Michael James D. Arienza, Mar Louie D. Barao, Ryan Anthony Berger, Theodore Richard Birkofer, Jose Carlos Vera Garza, Trieu Hai Nguyen, and Matthew Stasiński Schnitzler, who are set to be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate on Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Houston.
The transitional diaconate is a temporary state of diaconate service before these men are ordained to the priesthood next year.

Come to the 16th Annual In Memoria Sacred Music Concert, Sunday, November 23, at 3:00 PM at the Co-Cathedral! Tickets are available here at this link: https://archgh.org/in-memoria
Join more than 100 voices of the Archdiocesan Choir and the Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Chorus with orchestra to unite in prayerful song in honor of our priests, deacons, and religious who died this past year. We will also remember victims of violence and natural disasters and celebrate the life and witness of our late Holy Father, Pope Francis.
A Requiem of the Ages will take us through centuries of sacred music—from Gregorian Chant and Palestrina to Brahms, Mozart, Fauré, and Duruflé—along with contemporary works of consolation and hope. The luminous voices of children and youth will bring angelic beauty to timeless Requiem texts, and the evening will include Ariel Ramírez’s Gloria from Misa Criolla, a moving homage to Pope Francis.
See the video below for a glimpse into the joyful preparations for this inspiring concert with some of the finest music ministers in our archdiocese! It is a blessing to experience this inspiring music!

Cardinal DiNardo has granted a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Monday, Dec. 9, for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.

"As the celebration of the Blessed Mother under her title of the Immaculate Conception is the Patronal Solemnity of our nation, I encourage all the faithful to make a special effort to attend Mass on Dec. 9 even though there is no obligation to do so this year," said Cardinal DiNardo.
