🕊️ Celebrating the Life of Pastor Rudy Taylor 🕊️

Today, Christ Community Church of Praise lays to rest our beloved Pastor, Rudy Taylor. We celebrate a life fully surrendered to God’s calling.

Born February 8, 1944, in Wharton, Texas, Pastor Taylor accepted Christ at an early age and answered God’s call every step of the way — as a Deacon, an Associate Minister, and ultimately as Pastor of this very church family. Under his leadership, his love for God and God’s people was evident through his faithful service.

He was a hard worker in every season of life — a master machinist, a caretaker, a bus driver, a Home Depot team member — but it was his thriving lawncare business that brought him the most joy. Through it all, his true legacy was never in a job title. As his family says best: his legacy is his beloved church family.

He leaves behind his wife, Roslyne Kennedy-Taylor; his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and a host of relatives and friends who cherish his memory — and an entire church family he shepherded with love.

💐 A Celebration of Life for Pastor Rudy Taylor 💐

It is with heavy hearts, but with hope in our risen Savior, that we share the news that our beloved Pastor Rudy Taylor has gone home to be with the Lord.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

Pastor Taylor’s love for God’s people and his faithful service leave a legacy that will live on in this church and in every life he touched. While we grieve, we rejoice knowing he is now in the presence of the One he served so faithfully.

John 14:26 calls Him the Comforter.

Not just a helper. A Comforter — the One who sits with you in the hard moments, who teaches you what you couldn’t figure out on your own, and who brings God’s Word back to your remembrance right when you need it.

I think about how many times I’ve been in a tough spot and a scripture just surfaced out of nowhere. That’s not coincidence, that’s the Holy Spirit doing exactly what Jesus said He would do.

Walking with the Spirit daily doesn’t mean something dramatic has to happen. Sometimes it’s just a quiet nudge to call someone, a peace that doesn’t make sense, or a verse that suddenly makes sense in a way it never did before.

He’s not distant. He’s near. And He wants to teach you, comfort you, and remind you — today.

Question for you: When has the Holy Spirit brought something to your remembrance right when you needed it?
