Lifeline Ministry

Lifeline Ministry Lifeline Ministry is First Methodist Houston's Downtown area outreach to Houston's homeless and transient population.

The Missions Ministry of First Methodist Houston seeks to, in the name of Christ, support and aid the needy and less fortunate in Houston and around the world. We strive to be positive examples to others by being Christian in both word and deed to express the love of God. We seek to motivate our congregation and community to help them participate in missions. We seek to promote a person's self-suf

ficiency, self-worth and self-confidence through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lifeline is First Methodist Houston's Downtown area outreach to Houston's homeless and transient population. Lifeline provides lunch to each client, socks, a clean shirt and toiletries to care for their physical needs. Lifeline Ministers also listen to and pray with each client. Lifeline is able to serve 50 people each day, 200 people each week. You can help us help the hurting in Houston by donating staples to Lifeline. Lifeline is always in need of the following items:

If you haven't seen the weather report, it’s about to get really cold here in Houston! With winds gusting up to 40 MPH, temperatures are expected to be down near 0 degrees with wind chill. It's going to be freezing and dangerous on the streets. So, we are doing an impromptu coat, blanket, gloves, scarves, and hat collection for our Lifeline family!

Today, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., we will be collecting these items at the welcome desk of the Downtown campus so that we can distribute them Thursday morning. If you have the capability to drop something off today, it could make a substantial difference and mean a lot to someone. For more information about how you can drop off winter gear all throughout the season and continue to help our Lifeline community, click the link below:
