Present Day Believers must talk and live by the doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 21:12-15
King James Version
12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
1. Daily proclamations of Jesus and his teachings to the unbelieving world should be our stock in trade, as it is our main resource for godly living.
2. Expect, however, to attract backlashes from this corrupt world in which we are.
3. While you as a Christian must necessarily speak openly about the gospel, salvation and the second coming of Jesus; and while you as a Christian must live practically by the doctrine of Jesus Christ,
4. Our Lord Jesus enjoins you to trust in the unexplainable capacity to use your tongue for self- defense as well as the defense of the gospel
9. Jesus said whatever comes out of your mouth in times of attack, persecution, trials shall be given to you from above.
a. Therefore, your words shall turn to you for a testimony,
10. You need to know your mouth is given to you as a weapon against all your adversaries, and not only for food and drinking.
11. Your mouth is a gift and it will determine your destiny – morning, afternoon, evening
Note: You must engage your mouth to work in order to ward your enemies off and obtain your testimony.

Your Tongue Determines Your Destiny
Proverbs 18:21
New International Version
21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

1. God said he had paid for all our sins through his son Jesus.
a) But it will take your mouth to confess and your heart to believe and inherit the righteousness of Jesus, Rom 10:9-10
2.
a. Because your tongue must reflect what your faith stands for –
Salvation, victory, forgiveness, the fruits of the spirit
c. And not only that, it must translate into reality
d. And by translating into reality, you are defined by what comes out of your mouth.
3. Question – As a Christian, what do you use your tongue to confess. You must confess positive things for yourself and for your family because your tongue determines your destiny.

harvesting the fruits of your tongue – Make your words beneficial
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
the tongue, which gives us the capacity to speak is personified as the determiner of our destiny. That is why the verse states death and life lie in the power of your tongue.
This tells us that what you confess out of your mouth is very powerful and has lasting consequences. No other power is as awful as the power of speech. The reason for this is that,
b. It was only when God breathed his breath into man and made him a living soul that speech became possible on the earth
c. Your words are powerful because it originated directly from God’s source – God’s breath
d. It gives you and I the ability to communicate – the how, the when, the where to do so.
e. Lesson – Are you a believer of Jesus Christ? If you are please use that power of your tongue to praise God, to pray blessings on your neighbors including your enemies, to build people up rather than to tear people down, and you will see the results of God’s blessings in your life.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The tongue is a powerful tool in the mouth of man. It suppresses facts, by telling half-truths; it also accepts unverified rumor for facts, and that could amount to a false representation, which could damage an individual.
It only became possible as speech on the earth when God breathed His breath into man. The power of the tongue and speech for that matter is such that it can poison and destroy an entire community.
On the flip side, it destroys the power of Satan, when declarations are made through the word of God. It also draws the unsaved to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Question- What do you use your tongue for? Do you glorify God with it? Do you bless others with it? Or do you curse with it.
Remember, Life and Death are in the tongue. Be careful about how you use your tongue as a Christian, for you will account for every single word you utter with your tongue before God.

Diagnosing God’s Assignment for you toward Good Works
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
You are the handiwork of the Father in Heaven. You could be the hammer, or the chisel, or the Mallet, or the screwdriver in the House of God. That means as God’s handiwork, your good work is customized for you specifically to be achieved by you. Therefore, do not force to be what you are not meant to be by God. For instance,
1. Elijah was customized for the widow of Zarephath, and to no other widow.
2. And Moses was specifically assigned to do his good work to the Israelites.
3. And If you are Aaron, you are assigned to good works towards Moses.
4. You need to know your good works prepared or assigned to you by God. You must Ask yourself,
a) Whose pain do you feel, and Whose cause are you committed to?
b) Or, which interests are you inclined to protect?
c) Examine yourself, as a born again, and see what you feel obliged to support, or pursue, or protect, all to the Glory of God.

Know who you are 24/7 – You are God’s Handiwork meant for good works
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
1. How do you as a Christian Walk into good works prepared for you.
2. It is to Know you are God's workmanship.
a. You are God’s Handiwork crafted by God for a unique purpose.
b. God’s workmanship of you or His skill, which He imparted into you entails an equation of time, people, places and You.
3. God sent Elijah to the widow of Zarephath at a specific time when Elijah had declared drought to happen for three and a half years.
a) Elijah was a blessing to this widow even as the widow took care of Elijah.
5. Moses’ assignment was to perform good works to the Israelites.
6. Therefore, your good work is to specific people (person), a specific creation, and to specific places, at specific times.
7. As the year rolls through April to May, I pray that you will not live your life by heart. Instead, you will painstakingly discover the good works God has designed for you to accomplish this year of 2025.
