Proclaim the Good News

Reflect
Bad news is everywhere at our fingertips: televisions, radios, smartphones, and computers deliver it and feed our collective anxieties. Let’s turn them off and focus on the Good News instead.

Pray
God of love,
I find it a challenge
to face the day given the state of the world.
War, famine, unrest, and economic worries
blind me from what I should be looking for: you.
I vow to do better.
I promise to put away the distractions and close my eyes for quiet prayer
to replenish my spirit.
Grace is seldom found in cable news.
But in prayer, it is manifold.
Let me find you there.
Amen.

Act
Instead of spending time in front of your television, spend it outside under the sun or in quiet prayer. God is waiting.

Happy Labor Day | ¡Feliz Día del Trabajo!

Today we give thanks to God for the gift and dignity of work. We pray for all workers, asking the Lord to bless their efforts, provide for their families, and guide them in serving others through their work.

May the example of St. Joseph the Worker remind us that our daily work can be an offering to God and a way of building up our families and communities.

May God bless all workers and their families with peace, strength, and rest this Labor Day.

Hoy damos gracias a Dios por el don y la dignidad del trabajo. Oramos por todos los trabajadores, pidiendo al Señor que bendiga sus esfuerzos, provea para sus familias y los guíe para servir a los demás por medio de su trabajo.

Que el ejemplo de San José Obrero nos recuerde que nuestro trabajo diario puede ser una ofrenda a Dios y una manera de fortalecer a nuestras familias y comunidades.

Que Dios bendiga a todos los trabajadores y sus familias con paz, fortaleza y descanso en este Día del Trabajo.

We are grateful for a beautiful celebration of the Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time. It was a wonderful Sunday of prayer, Eucharistic celebration, and fellowship as we gathered as a parish community.

After every Mass, we continued the celebration in the parish hall with coffee, donuts, and fellowship. As the first Sunday of the month, we also celebrated our September birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

May God continue to bless our parish community and all those celebrating this month. May we carry the grace and joy of this Sunday with us throughout the week. 🙏

Estamos agradecidos por una hermosa celebración del XXIII Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario. Fue un domingo de oración, celebración de la Eucaristía y fraternidad al reunirnos como comunidad parroquial.

Después de cada Misa, continuamos la celebración en el salón parroquial con café, donas y convivencia. Como primer domingo del mes, también celebramos los cumpleaños y aniversarios de matrimonio del mes de septiembre.

Que Dios continúe bendiciendo a nuestra comunidad parroquial y a todos los que celebran este mes. Que llevemos con nosotros la gracia y alegría de este domingo durante toda la semana. 🙏
