Memorial Service for Jim Barnes on Friday, August 12 at 11 am

Dear Church Family,

Just a note to let you know that Jim Barnes, who was the son of Ruby Barnes (and George Barnes) passed away on August 7, 2022 at the age of 60. The Barnes family joined Memorial Drive in the early 1970's and Jim was confirmed at Memorial Drive Lutheran. In recent years, he has been caring for his mother here in Houston. There will be a Service of Celebration of his Life on Friday, August 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the West Campus. Since Pastor Beth Marie Halvorsen is out of town, the service will be led by Pastor Shelli Williams. Please keep the Barnes family, particularly his mother Ruby and his sisters, Debbie and Karen, in your prayers this week as they prepare for this service.

Rest eternal grant him, O Lord, and may light perpetual shine on him.

It is with sadness we share the passing of Roger Lemburg, husband to Mary Lemburg and father to Laura Lemburg and Leslie Caldwell. Visitation will be Friday October 1st from 5-7pm with a service on October 2nd at 10:30am, both at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Dr.
We give thanks for Roger’s life and trust he is welcomed into eternal life with our Lord.

MDLC is participating in MAM's collection of meals for Thanksgiving. Our attended collection times are Sat., Nov. 15, 10:30 AM-12:30 PM, and Sun., Nov. 16, 10 AM-12 PM. Please drive through porte corchere to drop off!
