Oftentimes we become burdened down with our issues. We fail to remember that our God is mighty and there is no failure in him. I want to remind you of Ephesians 3:20…God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. In other words, while we’re trying to figure it out he’s already worked it out. He can work it out in such a way that we wouldn’t have or even could have imagined. We are limited and live inside the confines of time but God is unlimited and is not restricted by time. He is our all knowing, all powerful, and everlasting father. It’s important to remember when you go through this life that there’s absolutely nothing you will face that he’s not able to see you through. We get impatient sometimes because it seems like he’s forgotten about us. 2 Peter 3:8-9 reminds us to “…be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
God made a promise to make Abram a great nation when he commanded him to leave his country and kindred. According to Genesis 12:4 Abram was 75 years old when God promised him a land for his offspring. 25 years passed by and Abram had no offspring and begin to think that a servant in his household would be his heir since at that time he was childless.
Instead ,God reminded him of his promise to Abram that he would have a son of his own flesh and blood. Not only would he have a son but with his wife who was known to be barren. God told him to look at the sky and count the stars if he could indeed count them, that would be how numerous his offsprings would be. God did not fulfill this promise speedily.
Abram and his wife became inpatient and thought that they had to assist the plan by using Sarai’s servant Hagar. But God knew the plans he had for them.
God waited until Abram was 100 years old and his wife Sarai 90 and well passed child bearing years before fulfilling his promise. I believe this is how the seed of faith was planted and Abram now Abraham became the father of faith. So then when he was tested to offer up his son Isaac as a sacrifice, Abraham obeyed because he believed that God would provide a sacrifice for himself.
It doesn’t matter how long it takes or how hard it may seem. We have to believe and trust in the Lord that he will do just what he said he would do. For with God nothing is impossible and through him all things are possible. If he said it just know he will do it. Your blessing is on the way!!!
