Thank you to the Adrian Dominican Sisters for this powerful statement. We must end the inhuman treatment of the most vulnerable in our society!

On behalf of Adrian Dominican Sisters and Associates, the General Council issued a statement decrying the practice of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers capturing and detaining children and calling on the Trump Administration to put an end to this inhumane treatment of the most vulnerable in our society.

Happy Feast of St. Francis of Assisi!

October 4th not only marks the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, but also the closing of the 2025 Season of Creation. St. Francis had a great love for God's creation, making him a perfect inspiration for the Season of Creation. As this special time of prayerful focus on our common home comes to an end, may we all continue to love and care for all of God's creation.

Happy Founder's Day!

On September 29th, 1882, twenty sisters arrived at our motherhouse in Galveston, Texas, after a long journey from Somerset, Ohio, marking the beginning of our ministry in the great state of Texas.

On this special day, we honor all the women who came before us—those who answered God's call with generosity and grace. May we remain faithful to their example and continue to be beacons of hope in our world!

We are saddened to share with you that our beloved Sister Benignus Galiano passed away on the afternoon of September 4th. Sister "Benig" was a woman of deep faith, grace, and quiet eloquence, and we will miss her daily presence in our lives. Thank you to all who have loved and cared for Sister Benignus. May songs of the angels welcome her!

Today marks the first day of the Season of Creation and World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. This year's theme, Peace with Creation, is rooted in Isaiah 32:14-28:

Because the palaces will be forsaken,
The bustling city will be deserted.
The forts and towers will become lairs forever,
A joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks–
Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,
And righteousness remains in the fruitful field.
The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness
Quietness and assurance forever.
My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation,
In secure dwellings and in quiet resting places.

Please join us in prayer as we reflect on this verse today and throughout this Season of Creation.
