Rev. Michael Gott returned to Unity of Houston this morning with a message about how the greatest gift of our courage is not to change conditions, but change ourselves.

Replay the livestream at https://www.youtube.com/live/30w1jYi4Wwc?si=LjQfKRwhJobZPayT, and if you’re on-campus today, make sure to stop by the YFM Open House, Journey Through Grief, and Black Women's Circle. 🙏

Rev. Michael Gott is back at Unity of Houston for the first time since his sabbatical began, and we are so excited to welcome him home!

Before he stepped away, he reminded us that the work continues. That we are always growing, always becoming, always being called into something greater. And this summer proved it. What a season it has been!

We'll see you Sunday, September 6, at 11 AM, in person or via livestream at unityhouston.org. Come ready to receive. 💙

Youth & Family Ministry Open House
Sunday, September 6, 12:20 - 2:00 pm
Unity of Houston - Wallet Hall

All congregants are invited to join us in the Education Building on September 6, 2026, right after the Service. As you enter the building, you will be given a passport which is to be stamped at each Sunday School Classroom. This will give you the opportunity to learn more about each classroom and what spiritual lessons, along with related crafts, are presented in that room. After all of the spaces on the passport are stamped, the participant will go to Wallet Hall and turn in the passport for a free meal. During the meal, various YFM leaders will talk about our youth programs.

Sunday Service, September 6
“The Courage to Change”
Rev. Michael Gott is back!
Unity Sanctuary
Online on Facebook, unityhouston.org, YouTube

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage the change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Reinhold Niebuhr

Perhaps the most accurate name for the Divine is “Mystery.” No matter how much we seek certainty, life is always in a state of change. All form is temporary. To live life on life’s terms we must practice the deep wisdom contained in the Serenity Prayer. We find peace in acceptance, and with wisdom we are guided to “change the things I can.” And perhaps the greatest gift of our courage is not to change conditions, but change ourselves.
